INTRODUCCIN
avances.

- A conference that lasts three hours = A three-hour conference.

modificador para expresar cantidad (a glass of water).
incorrecto decir "3 electricities". Toman verbo en singular. The sugar is. Es incorrecto decir "The
sugar are..." .
Incontables Contables
How much? - Cunto? How many? - Cuntos?
much money - mucho dinero many bills - muchos billetes

Ej:
1,000,000 one million
1,000,000,000 one billion o one thousand million

! en ingls se utilizan los nmeros ordinales: the fifth of July, the second of
May, etc..
the fifteenth of April, se dice April the fifteenth, en lugar de on the thirtieth of May, se puede
decir, on May the thirtieth, etc.
In May 2014.
In January 1986.

What time is it?
What's the time? / Qu hora es?
Its one o'clock. / Es la una en punto.!
Its three o'clock.
escrito.
Ej. Banks are open from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Es ms normal decir: 'In the morning' (por la maana), 'In the afternoon' (por la tarde despus de
comer), 'In the evening' (por la tarde, cuando ya ha oscurecido), 'At night' (por la noche).
7:00 a.m. = seven o'clock in the morning.
2:15 p.m. = quarter past two in the afternoon.
7:30 p.m. = half past seven in the evening
11:00 p.m. = eleven o'clock at night
12:00 = midday
24:00 = midnight
Se utiliza la preposicin "at" para expresar cundo va a suceder algo at eight o'clock:
What time does it start? (Aqu se omite at) / A qu hora empieza?
What time? / A qu hora?
At three o'clock. / A las tres en punto.
At quarter to seven. / A las siete menos cuarto.
At five past two. / A las dos y cinco.

!
Veamos unos ejemplos:
I hate snakes! / Yo odio las serpientes!
Wheres Peter? / Dnde est Pedro?
How are you? / Cmo ests?
Come here! / Ven aqu!
Dou you have anything for me?
explicadas y de los verbos auxiliares to have y to be.
- El verbo auxiliar "to do" se requiere para las formas negativa e interrogativa del "Present
simple" y el "Past simple".
-

If I could use a computer, I would find a better job.

be".

expresin If I were you (yo que t):
If I were you, I would buy the red one.

"It is built"; "It was held"; "It was
being done".!
Ej: This picture was painted by Velzquez. / Este cuadro fue pintado por Velzquez.
Ejemplo:
"She gaves him some flowers" (activa) puede resultar en la pasiva como: "Some flowers were given to
him" (Se le dieron unas flores/Le fueron entregadas unas flores)
"A bridge..."
personales.
Casos particulares
Activa: The police could watch the thieves through telescopes. / La polica poda observar a
los ladrones por los telescopios.
Pasiva: The thieves could be watched through telescopes. / Se poda (podan) observar a los

ladrones por los telescopios.
Nuevo sujeto + could + infinitivo del verbo "to be" (modo condicional de "to be") + past participle
Those responsable will be brought to justice. / Los responsables sern llevados ante la
justicia.
The police arrested the man last night and they took him to the police station.
The man was arrested last night and taken to the police station.
ms formal, serio y veraz.
The bomb was planted by terrorists. / La bomba fue puesta por terroristas.

She's called Mirla.
It is sent - Es enviado/Se enva.
It is going to be sent - Va a ser enviado/Se est enviando.
It was sent - Fue enviado/Se envi.
It used to be sent - Era enviado/Se enviaba/Sola ser enviado.
It will be sent - Ser enviado/Se enviar.
It would be sent - Sera enviado/Se enviara.
It has been sent - Ha sido enviado/Se ha enviado.
It had been sent - Haba sido enviado/Se haba enviado.
It will have been sent - Habr sido enviado/Se habr enviado
It would have been sent - Habra sido enviado/Se habra enviado.
It is being sent - Est siendo enviado/Est envindose.
It was being sent - Estaba siendo enviado/Estaba envindose.
It will be being sent - Estar siendo enviado/Estar envindose.
It would be being sent - Estara siendo enviado/Estara envindose.
