III. Procedure:
a. Preliminary Activities (5 Mins.)
1. Prayer
2. Review
a. Recap the previous lesson: Review on Following
procedures in forwarding documentation to
appropriate personnel and/or authority on the
test conducted.
b. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation (5 Mins.)
Demonstrate on how to properly peel the UTP cable
and color-coding the wires.
Guide Questions:
a. What can you say about the activity?
b. It is important to peel of the outer rubber in the
UTP cable and coding the wires by its colors??
c. What do you think will happen if you forgot to
color-code the UTP cable wires?

2. Activity (10 Mins.)

Group Activity:
1. Group the students into 3.
2. Group 1 and 2 will be provided by a set of PPE a
crimping tool and utp cable.
3. Group 1 and 2 will wear prescribed PPE such as
gloves, goggles and face mask.
4. Group will perform UTP cable splicing.
5. Group 3 will just observe the group 1 and 2 in doing
their activity.

3. Analysis (5 Mins.)
Group 3:
Ask the following Questions:
a. Hows the experience of group 1 & 2 activity?
b. Before the group activity, what prescribed PPE
must be wear?
c. Are you ready to learn more about UTP CAT-5e
cable splicing?
4. Abstraction (20 Mins.)
Before we start our lesson, allow me to show a video
clip that will catch our interest in UTP CAT-5e;
Watch a video clip about How To use a RJ45
Crimp Tool, Crimping tool for CAT5 CAT6 Ethernet 8P8C
Plugs
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKsVvPaPzsw)
(10 Mins.)
Guide Questions:
a. What can you say about the video?
b. Are you now ready to follow the correct procedures
on how to crimp a UTP CAT-5e?

The Facilitator will demonstrate the procedures in

UTP CAT-5e cable crimping and splicing based from the
CHS LM. Students will observe and follow on how to
disassemble the PC. (10 Mins.)

5. Application (10 Mins.)

Return Demonstration:
After the actual demonstration, the students will do
the return demonstration on UTP CAT-5e cable crimping
and splicing. (10 Mins.)

c. Generalization
Follow the procedures in UTP CAT-5e cable crimping
and splicing.

d. Values Integration
UTP CAT-5e cable crimping and splicing develops
time management, self-discipline, self-reliant, self-confidence,
creativity, innovation, patience, commitment and passion.

IV. Assessment:

Short Quiz: (4 Mins.)

Write in order the proper color coding arrangement for UTP

CAT-5e cable.

V. Assignment: (1 Min.)
All students must be able to practice the UTP CAT-5e cable
crimping and splicing in preparation for Group Performance Test.

Remarks:
