cellphones) in teaching and learning. The different sites and applications that can be used
by the teacher and students were also discussed. The applications and sites were adopted

This article focused on how to prevent technology as a tool and facilitator on students'
cheating. There was a recent survey conducted by Texplus (the creator of the free texting
app) on how the teachers focused on the students who cheating class, the survey
addresses that the teacher today were not focusing on this issue and how students learn
quickly that teachers not only ignore this behavior but also do not understand how it can
be used effectively to cheat in class. To prevent and to stop cheating, there are some
suggestions listed here; make assignments accountable for information that is not readily
available as a quick answer, ensure students are equipped to effectively use and evaluate
the information coming to them, do not be a text-dominated information center, allow
flexibility in your assignments, be collaborative in facilitating works, learn new
techniques and strategies and the learn more, be a "good citizen" of information, and find
ways to help your school build the infrastructure to keep even the most basic technology
available to teachers and students for use in teaching and learning. It is also stated that
technology cannot avoided in making assignments and school works, so as teachers, we
must guide them to use technology effectively in their learning. Technology can also
boost students' critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills if they used it
properly. Therefore, technology can give both advantage and disadvantage to the students
and teacher, but we need to encourage students for not using technology for bad purposes
like cheating. (1 reference) $RENZ.
This article explained the role of school librarians in promoting the use of educational
technologies. School librarians can promote the use of educational technology if they are
knowledgeable about technologies and teaching. School librarians need to be educational
technology specialists in their schools, information and technology literate, and need to
provide technology training for teachers, administrators, and parents. In those simple
ways, the school librarians will give information that need by the students for using
technologies (i.e., computers, printers, presentation equipment, digital readers, and
cameras), not just giving only information but also promoting the use of educational
technologies. There are some educational technology issues faced by school librarians
today; adequate funding for technology, access to relevant professional development,
funding and incentives to assist school districts in committing to staffing all school
libraries with certified school library professionals and appropriate support staff, and
language in legislation that specifically highlights the inclusion of school librarians.

This article discussed on how to merchandise your library resources and how to do to
make your library more attractive to the students. It was discussed the two merchandizing
opportunities: the place, physical, and virtual; and the content and resources. The library
resources can be merchandise by putting labels, signage, and proper lighting for the
students to access easily those resources and can also put signage on the walls. Putting
quotes, rhyming words or familiar phrases on the walls can attract the students to go to
the library. But a library should not focused only on resources, library should also focus
on the physical part of the library building like windows, ceiling, and flooring. The
ventilation is also important and the furniture like chairs, tables, and shelves need to be in
a good quality. Those things also need to be presentable for the students to use the
library. While virtual merchandizing is and electronic merchandizing tools that can also
be used in the library. Kiosk is an example of this, kiosks are great way to inform
students with new resources or program in your library. Retail merchandizers love to
leverage blogs, Facebook, and YouTube, so that you should include these programs in
your library. Leveraging retail techniques with students is important to invite them to
explore your library. Try also using visual merchandizing tool to make resources both
exciting and fun to find. According to the author of the article, her nephew enjoyed
exploring the library because of visuals posted there, so that visuals can have a great
impact on the students if they will use or not use your library. (3 references) $RENZ.
This article stated some things to do to make library being as top favorite and enjoyable
place in school for the students. The library resources, computers, and furniture were not
for the teacher and librarian only, but for the learning community including kids, staff,
and parents. Ask kids to help keep the library looking good, to report the best books they
read, and what they want that can make them feel comfortable in the library. Also
motivate them to read books were very important. Then a kindergarten student feedback
is "You are my favorite librarian." All of these were done and implemented because all
school and academic librarian need to reach the goal of making students like the library
and show that they are excited when having new acquired books. $RENZ.
