At the end of the class the students should be able to:
Discuss what is personal protective equipment and when will it be applied.
Appreciate the importance of personal protective equipment by means of how
to use it.
Write down the personal protective equipment in the work place.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

References: Basic Machining in Mechanical Technology Module
Materials: Cartolina for Visual Aids

III. LESSON PROPER

A. ACTIVITY
Instruction: group yourselves into 5 members then discuss and write down what
personal protective equipments you know and the use of it. After doing the
activity pass it to me.

B. ANALYSIS
Teacher: answer the question that follows
1. What is personal protective equipment?
2. When will the personal protective equipment be applied?
(The students will answer)

C. ABSTRACTION
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

The personal protective equipment (PPE) is anything used or worn by a

person to minimize risk to the persons health or safety and includes a wide range
of clothing and safety equipment. PPE includes boots, face masks, hard hats, ear
plugs, respirators, gloves, safety harnesses, high visibility clothing etc.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is one of the least effective ways of

controlling risks to health and safety and should only be used:

When there are no other practical control measures available (as a last
resort)
As an interim measure until a more effective way of controlling the risk
can be used, or
To supplement higher level control measures (as a back-up).

D. APPLICATION
Teacher: To measure your understandings, in 1 whole sheet of paper write down
the importance of personal protective equipment.
(The students will answer and the teacher will collect the papers afterwards)

IV. EVALUATION
List down at least five different personal protective equipment and write the use of it.
V. ASSIGNMENT
Give the (5) major part of the Lathe Machine
