RCCG
Monthly Holy
Ghost
Service
Projecting the National Monthly Holy Ghost Services and Special Services of RCCG at the
Viewing Centres (Over 100th of Miles away from the main event) seems to be increasingly
economically difficult, not to mention technical challenges such as Poor TV signals as a result
of poor weather conditions, technical issues with the Internet Service Providers (ISP), High
latency/ Slow buffering (due to heavy user traffic on the internet link), Poor audio quality,
mode of signal reception, and also Unavailability of big multimedia players such as MULTI-
CHOICE, CHANNELS, etc. to broadcast the coverage real-time.
Apart, from the challenges stated above, the vendors capability matters, and usually ranges
from the cost of services deployment, Legal/Copyright issues, Technical know-how,
Organization policy using the best Industry Standards guidelines, outdated technologies, are
some of the other technical hitches being experienced by the end-users whilst streaming real-
time events.
The issue of having multimedia carriers such as (CHANNELS, MULTI-CHOICE, LTV, NTA) can be
resolved by having them on spot to cover the monthly events live, which will allow for high-end
quality broadcast, and at the end of the day would have lessened the end-user technical
encumbrance while streaming.
However, the only official TV provider for the RCCG Monthly and Special Services is DOVE
MEDIA TV. They beam this coverage to an average of 10 Million viewers around the globe, via
the Internet and Satellite TV. In as much, this coverage is broadcasted from a source, it will be
ideal to have pragmatic backups in cases where one medium or channel of communication
fails.
These solutions have been rated on a scale of 1 to 5, on its reliability and efficiency
Analogue
Digital
Transmitter
Also, most analog radio signals beamed over the air, are decrypted (i.e. requires no subscription fee to
get the coverage). For digital signal, it uses a decoder and most of its signals are encrypted (requires a
subscription fee) e.g. GOTV and whilst some are free-to-air (i.e. requires a one-off fee)
Pros.
1. Not susceptible to weather condition.
2. Easy to use and Install.
3. Cheaper to maintain, technically
4. The information signal of a radio wave is widely dispersed
5. Less expensive on subscription fee
Cons.
1. Rarely occur transmitter failure.
2. The signal strength fades as a result of a poor line of sight on the positioning of the receiving
antenna.
However, recommended vendors for digital TV for RCCG's events: STARTIMES Decoder (DOVE TV
on Channel 464)
Broadband internet has triple play features I.e. its synchronous usages for

Internet-enabled TVs (Apple TV).

4. Easy to use and install.
Cons.
1. Sometimes poor Internet reception at the end-user
2. Large users traffic on a site which causes slow buffering / high latency experiences
3. Issues with the end-users systems compatibility (Installation of proper of Hardware and
software into your PC and MOBILE)
4. Sometimes network failure on the host/source link which affects the end users viewing.
5. Relatively expensive as result of bandwidth purchased.
Pros.
1. The signal of a satellite signal is widely dispersed even in a rural and urban areas.
Cons
1. Signal loss as a result of poor weather condition.
2. Technically difficult to maintain
3. Relatively expensive based on the subscription fee
