CHICOPEE POLICE DEPARTMENT ***RELEASE ON SHOOTING ON July 5, 2017*** On July 5", at 1:27am, our dispatch received a 911 call froma worker at the Specialized Trucking Company, 215 Griffith Rd, fora report ofa worker shot. Our officers responded and found a worker, with minor injuries. This party was sitting behind glass, when another worker, identified as LEWIS STARKEY III, walked up, and shot at the party with a shotgun. The pellets broke the glass, and the worker was cut. The gun then malfunctioned, and the suspect fled. One hour prior to this, the suspect was invalved in a Homicide in Wendell, MA. That incident is being investigated by the Mass State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampshire County District Attorney's office. At this time, the suspect is still on the run. He is wanted for Murder, Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, and A&B w/a Dangerous Weapon. He is to be considered Armed and Dangerous. If you see this suspect, immediately dial 911 and give the informatian. DO NOT approach this party. His photo is attached.
