Cardox Carbon Dioxide Systems
Chemetron continues its leadership in special
hazard gaseous agent protection. Since
Cardox Carbon Dioxide Systems were intro-
duced in 1940, our engineering, equipment and
performance have proven CO2 is the preferred
choice as an extinguishant for a multitude of
critical facilities.
Performance
CO2 is fast, efficient, cost-effective and adapt-
able for a wide range of hazards. The discharge
of CO2, a low cost clean agent, is non-damag-
ing to property and electrically non-conductive.
Multi-hazard, high risk protection can be de-
signed to provide automatic, simultaneous dis-
charge for a variety of hazards and configura-
tions using high or low pressure systems. Low
pressure systems and equipment are best suited
for applications where large quantities of CO2
are needed.
For smaller hazards or where space is limited,
a high-pressure system is recommended.
We work with each client to select the system
best suited to an application based on perfor-
mance, costs, logistics, maintenance and per-
sonnel safety.
FM-200 System Protection
FM-2O0 extinguishes fire via a combination of
chemically-based fire inhibition and cooling. It
Is environmentally acceptable, safe to use on
sensitive equipment, fast-actIng, efficient and
effective.
Developed as a halon replacement, FM-200 has
been selected by Chemetron as the best people-
compatible, clean agent fire protection material
for vital facilities. Accordingly, we have de-
signed systems for compatibility and maximum
effectiveness with FM-200.
The U.S. EPA, in the Federal Register, May 12,
1993, recognized the inherent personnel safety
of FM-200 in accepting it for use in occupied
space protection at up to 9.0% v/v without man-
dated egress times. This means that occupied
spaces can be safely evacuated, even in the pres-
ence of FM-200 at design concentrations.
Water Mist System Protection
Natural, non-toxic, efficient and widely appli-
cable. This risk-specific solution is a fine wa-
ter spray mist that offers effective protection
without the deluge and damage of traditional
water-based systems.
