Take Place: London, Cairo, Luxor

Summary:
Thursday the 4th of August was the last working day for inspector Salahadin El Nur in the heat of
Cairo. Leila will take over his place when he is in London for three weeks. Salahadins job is to stop
people who want to take ancient things along to another country. Saturday at 15:00, he arrived at a
small hotel in Gower Street, nearby a British museum. A friend of Salahadin works in that museum,
and Salahadin was going to help his friend during his vacation. He was walking when it was still
raining. He arrived at a bookshop and he bought a card for Leila and a book about a queen Axtarte.
He went to a snackbar and after that he went to the cinema. Back in the hotel he went to sleep
when it was late. The following morning at breakfast he was called by Peter, and he invited
Salahadin for lunch. Before he left,, he read a little from a book that he bought yesterday night. In
the livingroom of Mr. Earl were Mr. Earl and Salahadin talking about that book and about the
unknown author called dr. Farrow. Earl showed a message in the newspaper The Sunday Times
where Dr. Farrow was telling something about Queen Axtarta. He claimed that he knew were the
tomb of Queen Axtarta is. He deciphered a pill ear from the temple of Karnak. This pill ear is in the
British museum. They are scared of smugglers, just like the Amsterdam Ring. In the tomb lie
treasures of millions of dollars. Salahadin has sent two dispatches, one to inspector Ahmed Abbas,
and one to Leila Osman. Salahadin is going to find out who Farrow is, because on his visa it says
that he is a teacher and that he is in Cairo as a tourist. Salahadin informs at the Scottish Yard, and
heard that Farrow was a prisoner for drugssmuggle. Earl is going to find information at the friends
of Farrow. Salahadin decides to go back to Cairo. At the airport of Cairo, Leila and Ahmed are
waiting for him. They drive to the ministry of inland country cases immediately. Underway
Salahadin sees that they are followed by a black Mercedes with a foreign serial number. They come
at a big roundabout, meanwhile there was a tram coming. Salahadin asks the driver to cross the
rails before the tram comes, and with success. But the following car smashed at the tram and the
two men escaped. In the car that crashed Salahadin found a Dutch book and Dutch cigarettes. The
following morning Salahadin makes an appointment with dr. Gomouchian for more information
about Queen Axtarte and Farrow. He told Salahadin that the queen poisened all her helpers and
everyone who would go inside the tomb is getting poisened. There is a poison in the tomb or a
germ. Meanwhile Leila and Ahmed are in hotel Mirabel finding out where mister and misses Farrow
stay, they found nothing, only the book on the roof of the flat downstairs at the
sleepingroomwindow. Salahadin goes with a police aircraft searching for Farrow in Luxor.
Meanwhile Leila and Ahmed have to find out where the wife of Farrow has been kidnapped.
Farrow is kidnapped by the Amsterdam Ring. He has left a message in a book that Leila found.
Meanwhile some of the smugglers, Keesing en de Fries, are driving with Farrow to Luxor, to the
tomb of queen Axtarte. Another smuggler Greer is kidnapping Mrs. Farrow in a house in Cairo.
Every night is there radio contact between the smugglers. This radio contact must take place at
19:00, or Christine Farrow gets killed. Farrow ordered to Keesing en de Fries that they have to ride
a steep slope, so that an aircraft can see them. Salahadin flies to Luxor at that moment and on the
way he sees two lorries driving in the desert. At arriving in Luxor, Salahadin heard that the
fingerprints found in the black Mercedes match Jusef Strengel's. He is a rich smuggler, with a
private collection of ancient. He sells nothing, but keeps it to himself. Salahadin thinks that in the
first lorry is Farrow, and in the second lorry, three kilometres behind them, Strengel. With three
policemen and inspector Musa Salahadin goes on his way in a Land Rover into the desert, to the
tomb. In Cairo Ahmed and Leila are still looking for Christina. In the shadow some ladies are talking
with each other and Leila is going to sit whit them. A few minutes later a young lady called Fatima is
also sitting whit the other ladies. The ladies ask Fatima whether the European lady who is sick is
okay. Fatima doesnt know, because she has never seen her, the lady always locks her door. Leila
follows Fatima, because it might be Christine Farrow. When Fatima went in a house, Leila called
Ahmed to come with two policemen. Theyre waiting until Fatima comes out the house, make a
plan with her and then Leila, dressed as a housekeeper, enters the house. In the desert, Farrow,
Keesing and the Fries have arrived at the tomb. They find a entrance, but the entrance is blocked
by a big stone. They try remove the stone with dynamite. Farrow stays at a distance, because hes
scared of the germs. Suddenly he heard a scream, de Fries is falling down and hes dead. Farrow is
scared that Keesing is dead too, with as consequence that there is no more radiocontact. At that
moment another lorry stops, three men come out the lorry with protectionsuits, one of them is
Jusef Strengel. When Farrow and Strengel were talking, Keesing calls, he shoots at Strengel, but he
missed. De driver of Strengel shoots at Keesing, hes not immediately dead, but he dies from the
poison. Strengel and his helpers are going into the tomb to get the mummy. Farrow is trying to get
radiocontact. A few minutes later Salahadin arrived, he hears a sound in the lorry and find Farrow.
He tells them everything what happened. De driver helps Farrow to get radiocontact. Musa and the
three policemen are hiding themselves by the entrance of the tomb and Salahadin stands in the
entrance of the tomb in the moonlight. De driver and Farrow find some notes how to make
radiocontact with Greer. Theyre pretending that they cant make good radiocontact. Leila is in the
house and she hears the men talking. She quickly goes to find Christine. She tells her that shes
from the police and that she is going to rescue her. Strengel comes with his men out of the tomb
with the mummy. Suddenly Salahadin is standing in front of them, he says that the men have to
bring the mummy back. He tells about a sour on the mummy and that the sour is burning trough
the handgloves. One of the men is become scared and he took off his suit, he falls and he dies.
Strengel becomes angry and tries to touch Salahadin with the poison. But Salahadin shoots him in
his leg. The other men bring the mummy back. Meanwhile Leila and Ahmed have rescued Christine
and have radiocontact with Farrow. Salahadin says that everything is okay and that they will hear
an explosion because they are going to shut the entrance with dynamite. An explosion is following
and a large rock breaks in pieces and shuts the entrance. Then they tried to sleep and the following
morning they go back to the tomb and look if everything is okay.
