Why do you wish to earn an MBA at Fisher College?

I wish to earn an MBA from the Fisher College of Business, as it is my passion to study

it. The college will be a stepping-stone towards the achievement of my career goals. The

opportunity study in the college will assist me to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge that

would contribute significantly towards the achievement of my passion. During my childhood, I

had an interest in interacting with people and in business. I was awed by how companies work,

and the intricacies of the business world. It was a significant aspect that attracted me to pursue

business as my passion grew with time. The college has the personnel and educational material

that would prove beneficial towards the achievement of my goals. Furthermore, my previous

years of college strengthened my passion for pursuing an MBA. The teachers are highly skilled,

and I found an opportunity to improve myself.

I intend to establish a relationship with many members of the faculty, and this influenced

me to apply for the MBA at the college. Furthermore, the lecturers encourage closer interactions

with students as an important aspect of the study. I will be able to access them whenever I have

difficulties during my MBA. The four years in college influenced my passion to grow and

develop. I became interested in gaining knowledge of new management techniques. Furthermore,

the course allowed is to challenge myself in my practice and approaches. Essentially, Fisher

College has a variety of subject options that I can opt to undertake. Part of my passion is outlined

in the vision. Essentially, I intend to become an influential professor. Furthermore, I want to

contribute to education research, student development, and an effective movement in education

that supports cultural and educational values. Being accepted into the college would pay an

integral role towards the achievement of my goals.

I have a connection with the Fisher College. It arises from the fact that I studied my

undergraduate at an American university. Considering my background, I will adapt to the new

environment quickly. Coupled with my current skill set, and opportunity to study of the MBA

will ensure that I am able to improve my intellect knowledge. It is an opportunity to continue my

education and complete college with the necessary credentials. The teachers at the school attract

me. They are skilled and will ensure that I was able to gain all the necessary knowledge during

my MBA. Furthermore, I have gone through the profiles of professors I could interact with, and

this was a major attribute that attracted me to apply for an MBA at the Fisher College. It is

imperative to study at the university to create a continuation of my education. It will be easy to

adapt to the campus atmosphere, and I will quickly gain from my lecturers. I was fortunate to be

on the deans list for the entire duration of my undergraduate studies and this will prove

beneficial if I am accepted into the Fisher MBA program.

The Fisher MBA program will allow me to achieve my immediate and future goals, as it

will meet my needs. My primary strengths of public speaking, coordination, and commutation

will be improved through the MBA at Fisher College. I am accustomed to the college and have

links with many members of the faculty and surrounding areas. An MBA will equip me with

better leadership skills. MBA program involves participating in group projects, presentations and

other assignments that will enable me to highlight my leadership capabilities. By undergoing

these type of situations, I will be able to acquire the necessary skills to deal with the real-life

business challenges. To succeed as a businessperson, there is the need to have good leadership

qualities. Fisher College provides many opportunities to improve n my leadership skills. It also

encourages the development of the same. I also have a career objective of teaching other people,

especially the younger generation. To achieve this, I have to improve my leadership abilities. By

pursuing an MBA, I will have better chances of ensuring that this is accomplished.

An important career goal is to have good risk management skills. This is because, in the

modern business environment, there is always a measure of risk that is involved. MBA courses

offered at the college teach risk management and analysis skills. Through this knowledge, I will

have the ability to assess the risk and make informed decisions regarding how to solve the

problem. I will also be in a better position to implement measures that will help my business

undertakings avoid future risk occurrences. It is also important to understand how to insure

businesses against future risks. Through the MBA courses, I will understand in a comprehensive

way in which the insurance industry functions and how I can obtain insurance covers for my

business. I believe that the lecturers will prove beneficial in improving these skills as they have

several years of experience.

The MBA course also encourages students to be good communications. MBA students

learn how to communicate effectively with other people in both public speaking roles and one-

on-one situations. Throughout my career, I have had a great passion for supporting cultural

values. In my work environment, I will be dealing with people from diverse backgrounds, which

will require effective communication skills to interact in an efficient way. MBA courses will

prepare me to handle these situations in a better way since they will arise in my business career.

The Fisher College MBA program will equip me with the better project and time

management skills. I have career objectives of undertaking several projects such as being an

influential professor contributing to education research. To achieve such a milestone, I need a

better project and time management skills, which will be attained by studying the courses that are

offered in the MBA program. During the study of the undergraduate program, the professors give

students research projects that need to be completed within a specified period. This will be the

case during the MBA, and I will take full advantage of this opportunity. I will be able to improve

my research skills and at the same time ensure that I have completed the research within the set

timeframe. Essentially, the institution has the necessary personnel and resources that would assist

me in the development of my skills, and the achievement of my goals as an MBA student.

Difficult situation

Over the years, I have been through many difficult situations that have played an integral

role in my development as a person. As a child, I had dreams of being successful when I grew

up. I was motivated at a young age to pursue my dreams and goals, and this was a motto I chose

to follow in life. A particularly difficult experience that I underwent resulted from my career

goals. My parents disowned me as my career goals did not align to their wishes. I was always

interested in business and management. The urge to become a professional was a basis that

influenced me to pursue a course of business and management. My parents declined to pay my

fees, as they did not like career choices. For my parents, a career in engineering would have been

more suitable, but I did not have a passion for it. They declined to pay my fees, and this

encouraged me to work hard towards the achievement of my goals. It was not easily, especially

when it came to raising my fees for my studies. I worked for about five years to save sufficient

finances for my fees. It was not an easy experience as I was supporting myself.

After high school, I worked for a year as a High School Secretary. I was able to gain an

experience in business management and remain focused on my goals in life. I also worked in

other jobs to improve my finances. It includes being a Judo trainer and teaching children how to

play sports. I also took a one-year English language course at the University of Washington. This

was necessary to show my parents that my dreams were valid and that I would finally achieve

my goal in studying business management. The one-year curse proved beneficial as it prepared

me for the following year in college. After I had joined college, I had to work while studying. It

was a difficult time, especially when balancing between my studies and work. Despite the

challenges, I was able to complete college with good grades. I was determined to achieve my

goals despite the challenges faced. After college, my parents began to support my dreams. They

saw that I was determined and had goals in life that intended to achieve.

What I learned from the experience

I learned a lot from my experiences. It was important to remain focused during the entire

time and avoid any kind of distractions. There were many reasons that arose as to why I should

be quit college, and should follow a different career path. It was difficult raising funds for my

studies, especially during my time as an undergraduate. Despite the lack of time, I was able to

balance my time as a student and an employee. This improved my ability to cope with stressful

situations, and it strengthened my will to achieve my goals. Furthermore, I acquired more

knowledge as a management intern. This knowledge provided me with hands-on experience in

business management, and how to interact with different people.

During the period before college, I was working in many professions that were often difficult. It

is important to undertake a profession where you have the knowledge and experience to deal

with various features of the job. In this regard, my experiences have influenced me to be

passionate about a profession in business management. The MBA course would prove beneficial

towards the achievement of my goals in life.

I was fortunate to have lectures and professors who supported my goals. This occurred

during my undergraduate years, and their support encouraged me to continue pursuing my goal.

Their support is a factor that encourages me to apply for the MBA program at Fisher College.

Furthermore, I am interested in job security, and this is an influencing factor as to why I intend to

continue with studies to completion. Through my experiences, I am aware that my hard work and

the patient will be fruitful in the end. It is imperative to have job security, especially when you

have the necessary credentials. The MBA will be an important turning point in my life, and will

prove that my determination has paid off.

Weakness in my application that may be a concern for the admissions committee

Though I believe that I am well suited to be offered the opportunity to take on an MBA

program, some weaknesses could be a concern for the admissions committee. Nobody is perfect;

therefore, there are certain flaws that a person may have. One of the weaknesses is little

involvement in extra-curricular activities. Even though I have undertaken several extra-curricular

activities before, I believe that I have the potential to engage in even more activities. My

participation has not been consistent compared to the expected levels. Nevertheless, I have made

adequate plans to ensure that I undertake extra-curriculum activities more often and be an active

participant. I know that I will acclimatize to all the requirements that are needed to accomplish

the mission of these activities.

Another weakness is adapting to the change of schedule. Considering that before

undertaking the MBA program I was a full-time student, the schedules that are associated with

MBA courses might be challenging. I have high GPA scores because of having adequate time to

undertake my studies. However, this might change while pursuing an MBA. When the offered

mode of teaching is different to the one that I was accustomed to, it might result in a little

dedication of time to the studies. However, even though the change in schedule might be

problematic, I have set clear objectives regarding what I want to attain after completing the MBA

course. Therefore, even though adapting to the change of schedule might be a concern to the

admission committee, it will not deter my ambitions for success.
