fundamental laws, Viscous fluid flow Analysis, Navier- Stokes Equations, Study of Flow pattern through Orifices
and Mouthpieces, Notches and Weirs and Dimensional analysis and similitude

4. Proposed course description:

Concepts and definitions; compressibility of fluids, Fluid pressure and measurement, Hydrostatics, Buoyancy,
Rigid body motion, Fluid Kinematics, Conservation laws, Study of Flow pattern through Orifices and
Mouthpieces, Notches and Weirs, Analysis of flow through pipes, Viscous fluid flow Analysis, Dimensional
analysis and similitude.

5. Justification for the change in course description:

Title was changed based on recommendation of the Curriculum review experts and deliberations in CCDCA.
Topic fluid compressibility was added to make course holistic. Experts suggested to keep the description as
general as possible so as to give different flavours to the course.

6. Have the proposed changes been discussed in Departmental committee on academics (DCA ) and the
cross campus Departmental Committee on Academics (CCDCA)?
