Turbine tripped on "Condenser Pressure Very High", boiler tripped on RH protection, Generator tripped on reverse
power protection.

5 A) Obseruations :-
Unit was running with 345 MW load. All running CCW pumps tripped due to failure of DC supply & closure of
Butterfly valve of running CCW pumps. Condenser pressure increased & unit tripped on Condenser pressure very
High. CCW DC supply cable checked from both end, found open.
5 B) Remedial Action/work done l-

DC supply source extended from HT switchgear control supply fuse board & supply normalised (BFV Dc control
supply normalised)

6. Root Cause Analysis :-


CCW DC supply cable checked from both end, found open, therefore DC supply of CCW HT switchgear & control
supply to CCW butterfly valve failed causing closure of Butterfly valve of running CCW pumps, Condenser pressure
increased & unit tripped on Condenser Pressure very High
7. Preventive action suggested (Shoft Term) :- Nil

8. Preventive action suggested (Long Term) :-


DC source extention from Unit-6 to Unit-S & vice versa for immediate restoration of DC supply in case of failure of
