COURSE OVERVIEW:

The present course is designed in such a way that it gives an overview of concepts of
Economics. Managerial Economics enables students to understand micro environment in
which markets operate how price determination is done under different kinds of competitions.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
I. To understand the concepts of managerial economics, this helps in optimal decision making
in business environment.
II. To be familiar with demand concepts, types of methods or techniques of demand those are
used by the entrepreneur or producer.
III. To have a thorough knowledge on the production theories and cost while dealing with the
production and factors of production.
IV. To learn the various market structures such as perfect and imperfect competition
V. To learn about important macroeconomic concepts such as national income, inflation,
fiscal and monetary policies
COURSE OUTCOMES:
1. To understand the nature and scope of managerial economics and to know about the
importance of science, engineering and technology in economics.
2. To grasp the concepts of demand, law of demand and elasticity of demand.
3. To figure out the methods of demand forecasting and to understand different cost concepts.
4. To know about the types of markets and their competitive situations in detail.
5. To understand the concepts of national income, inflation and phases of business cycle.
