REFERENCE LETTER
I am writing this reference as applicant nominated me to act as a referee in support of an application to the Durham
University for SHAIKH, KAINAT who, as mentioned, had applied to MA Applied Linguistics for TESOL (1 Year) (Full
time) in your university.
I have known Shaikh, Kainat, first, as a teacher for around one year from March 2013 to January 2014 at National
University of Modern Languages NUML Hyderabad Campus,and , then, as a colleague for two years i.e. August
2014-June 2016.

I have found Shaikh, Kainat self-motivated and proactive during all these years. She has proved, and will prove, the
soundness and comprehensiveness of her aptitude. She is determined when it comes to taking initiative, and is
diligent and persistent in her pursuits.

Kainat is intelligent and has an unusual thinking style and ability to combine methods and ideas from different
disciplines. She took two subjects from me i.e. Grammar and Syntax, and Socio-Psycholinguistics from me and
earned superior grades in those classes. This gained her across the country distinction in semester examinations of all
five campuses of NUML in Pakistan. Based on Kainats grades, attendance, and class participation, I'd rate Kainat's
academic performance in my class as excellent.

Kainat was actively involved in universitys life, both as a student and a teacher. She participated in various
university volunteer arrangements and did to her best whenever she was assigned to lead a group. Here, I would
recall the NUML Students-Parents Gala. I very well remember the dedication and team-spirit she displayed, and
filled the members with, in the arrangement of stalls.
Having come across such instances, I would deem her meticulously organized, independent (as and when required)
and is able to follow through to ensure that the task gets done.

During her tenure as a teacher at NUML Hyderabad, not only Kainat excelled in her role as a teacher, she also
undertook the role of coordinator. She would effectively schedule and manage a couple of assistants thereby ensuring
transparency and efficiency.

Having come across many of her write-ups, class discussions, and presentations, I feel unrestrained to opine that
Kainat understands a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and contextualizes meanings. She speaks fluently and
effectively for social, academic, and professional purposes. She can produce unambiguous, correct, stylistically
cohesive and logically coherent, and comprehensive discourse, no matter how interwoven and multi-faceted the
subject is.

I evaluate Shaikh, Kainat as intelligent, dependable, dedicated person, who is ready to achieve his goals. I am
confident that Kainat would be a tremendous asset to your program; hence, I highly recommend her for this program
without reservation. If you have further questions with regarding her background or qualifications, please do not hesitate
