Minutes from June Meeting

The meeting commenced at 7:40 PM, with 19 members and 1 guest present.
The minutes were read with no errors or omissions. The minutes were
accepted by Dianne McParland, and seconded by Laura Kydd. T h e S ta n le y

COMMUNICATIONS: Insurance agreement forwarded to Treasurer for records.

SPORTS: In two events we have had two accidents. Everyone over the age of 18
should review the value of wearing a helmet, as one of the accidents we had, could Famous

Other than that all was good and running smooth. Please keep an eye out for your
fellow competitors. Sometimes things like buckling up a throatlatch or checking that
cinch can get overlooked. Don’t’ be afraid to point out a potential problem.
SHOW: The show was a great success. We had 42 horses in attendance. All of the sponsorships were handed out in prizes. The high point
sponsors were given a framed photo of the high point winner along with the sponsor’s name. Laura Grey donated a buckle for the event
which was awarded to Tammy Paquette for Grand Champion. Most of all expenses have now been covered for our Sept. shows.
This event was a huge success do to the helping hands our much appreciated volunteers and to the leadership of our Sports Director
Tammy Paquette. (High Five folks). Our judge Sandy Donald really enjoyed her time here and thanks everyone for their hospitality.

PUBLICITY: Director not in attendance. Ian Shaw will drop off one of our
brochures at the tourist pagoda located at the border and the staff will include our
events in the glossy brochure for What’s Happening in Thunder Bay.

YOUTH: Youth are ready for the old timers gymkhana on Sunday. The event will
commence at 10:00 Am. Bill Hickman will set up timer and amp for the event. The Certified Horseman youth
fun day was unfortunately cancelled due to a lack of interest and resources. Eva Association needs to
be called about the ring rental for the cancelled event. Level 2 English &

OLD BUSINESS: Tims meat orders can be picked up @ Tims Meats and Deli on June
26/10 between the hours of 11AM and 1PM. Experience in Hunter,
Western Pleasure,
NEW BUSINESS: The club photo copier is working again for now. Tally sheets need to
be copied. Dress code to be enforced, mainly properly fitting approved helmets Saddle Seat, Hunter on our
youth. Parents and guardians, please watch out for the younger children. The Over Fences, Gymkhana warm
up area and ring gates are for competitors only and this is not a “safe zone”. & Trail. The
bleachers located near the warm up area were intended for people helping with
competitors and their horses. The general audience should be located around the
North bleachers. The caterer for the banquet will be hopefully approved at our Cindy Gallant July
meeting. We will be getting pricing and menu’s from AJ’s on Hwy 61 and from Sweet
Dreams the caterer we have used in the past two banquets. Jessica Mina will get pricing on music from Maverick Music and Rob
Dowswell will check with the DJ that played at the Agriplex spring dance. This year we will sell dance tickets for $3.00 in
advance for people not able to attend the supper but who wish to celebrate with us after the award ceremonies. The $5.00 at the
door will remain as last year.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:16PM

$16.25 was collected for the timer fund.
