1) What is the maximum number of emission lines obtained when the excited
electron of an H-atom in n=6 drops to the ground state?
4) Li is the strongest reducing agent in spite of its highest ionisation enthalpy. Why?
5) Explain why chlorine can be converted into chloride ion more easily as compared
to fluoride ion from fluorine.

7) Write the values of the quantum numbers n & l of the the valence electron of
sodium (Z= 11).

9) i) The standard free energy of a reaction is found to be zero. What is its
equilibrium constant?
ii) Predict the sign of entropy change of the following:-
H2 (g) 2H (g)
11) A welding fuel gas contains carbon and hydrogen only. Burning a small sample
of it in oxygen gives 3.38g carbon dioxide, 0.690g of water and no other
products. A volume of 10.0L (measured at STP) of this welding gas is found to
weigh 11.6 g. Calculate (i) empirical formula (ii) molar mass of the gas and (iii)
molecular formula

A 100 watt bulb emits monochromatic light of wavelength 400nm. Calculate the
number of photons emitted per second by the bulb.
13) i) What would be the IUPAC name and symbol for element with the atomic
number 122?
ii) The second electron gain enthalpy of oxygen is positive. Why?
iii) What is the basic difference between electronegativity and electron -gain
enthalpy?
14) What will be the pressure of the gas mixture when 0.5L of H2 at 0.8 bar and at
2.0L of oxygen at 0.7 bar are introduced in a 1L vessel at 27C?

16) i) Write the conjugate acid and base of H2O.
ii) Find the pH of 10-8M HCL.
21) i) Why is the lassaignes extract boiled with HNO3 before testing for halogen?
ii) 0.5 gm of an organic compound on kjeldahls analysis gave enough ammonia
to just neutralize 20 ml of 0.5 M H2SO4. Find the % of nitrogen in the compound.
23) Pollution of water originates from human activities, industrial waste etc. Organic
waste, heavy metals also creates water pollution. Immersion of statues of Durga,
Ganesha etc. also pollute water. An association of Chitranjen Park decided not to
immerse statues in river. This step is appreciated by the Govt. And by other NGO
etc.
