Cultural Expression that Influence your Life

Introduction

There are attributes that describe cultural expressions in the forms of traits and mostly differ

with one culture to another. The activities, goods and services that relate to cultural

expressions may take centuries to evolve. Cultural expressions are the product of human

creativity in groups, societies or individuals. The geographical disparity matters and with a slight

differences the dialects, food, music and dance, etc. also vary (UNESCO, 2016). Such a case is

very evident in South Asian geography, i.e. India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan,

etc. This paper includes three basic cultural expressions, i.e. food, dance and poetry, in Indian

culture. The long tradition of food, dance and books has historical footprints that can be dated

back to multiple sources and here only those sources are mentioned which are considered

authentic as per the authors understanding of this paper, which relates to a specific sub culture

of India i.e. Punjabi.

Food in Indian Punjabi Culture

As per my understanding of the Indian Punjabi cultural preservation, I consider three things to

be of vital prominence, i.e. food, dance & poetry and also suggested the same by (Kumar,

2014). If I have to choose, one to work and strive for, I will definitely choose for food and such a

choice might depends on the personal traits and skill that I have being a student of western

university and the urban ways of think and doing routine work which distinguishes me from the

indigenous Punjabi people still living at that geography, which they inherited in succession from

their forefathers.

When it comes to food, the biryani and the spicy products, along with the sweet dishes

that Punjabi people used to take after they are finished having lunch or dinner, makes a superb

combination of celebrating the taste of life by adding colors to it that can be tasted and

smelled. We try to take utmost benefit of our five senses but the sense to taste is sometimes

neglected on the grounds that it is psychologically difficult to accept other cultures taste. In

Punjab of Pakistan, the spice is connected with the cultural expression of province of Punjab

and the resulting understanding of the relating cultures like that of migrants Indian and Sind

province (Nandy, 2004). . Despite the hostile relations between South Asian states, it is the

food places, outdoor and indoor, that is enjoyed together by different followers of religion and

ethnicities, and is celebrated with peace. I would prefer keeping such a tradition that bring

taste and peace, together for the South Asian region.

For example, what is it? Where did it come from and when? Who has decided to keep it? Why

is it worth keeping?

act?

If someone saw only this list of cultural expressions, what might they conclude about you?

What might be an incorrect assumption that someone could make? What do you think might be

accurate?

Conclude the paper with a substantive conclusion.
