RETRIEVING LICENSE SERVER INFORMATION ON SUPPORTED WINDOWS X64 MACHINES:

NOTE: Dongles are only available for those sites that require the
ability to run ANSYS products on an isolated network. If you are
attempting to retrieve the hostid information for a FLEXID9 dongle,
you will need to download and install the full ANSYS License Manager
instead of using this process. After installing the license manager,
refer to the section 'Using Dongles with the ANSYS License Manager'
in the 'ANSYS, Inc. Licensing Guide' for additional details. The
steps below will retrieve the license server machine's hostid.

1. Copy the downloaded Windows x64 zip file (WINX64.zip) into an empty
working directory on the Windows machine that will be a license
server.

2. Unzip the zip file.

3. Run the AnsRegSvr.exe file on the license server machine.

NOTE: The default hostid retrieved is the disk serial number of

the operating system drive. To retrieve the machine's MAC address,
open a command prompt window, go to the directory containing the
AnsRegSvr.exe file, and issue the following command:

.\AnsRegSvr.exe /e

4. In the AnsRegSvr utility's dialog box, enter the information for

your site and then press the OK button to display the license server
information. (If you do not know your customer number, leave that
field blank.)

5. Press the dialog's 'Create File' button and select the desired file
location.

6. Repeat this process for any other Windows systems that will be license
servers.

7. Return all created files to your ANSYS sales representative so that

all required license files can be created.
