Application For The Position Of Program Coordinator

Princewel Eklu is my name and I will like to express my interest for the position of the Program
Coordinator with your organization, SECOURS ISLAMIQUE FRANCE (SIF). As a young African
having made a tough journey in educating myself and thereby attaining a degree in Marketing and a
masters degree in International Development with a specialization in Human Rights and African
Studies, I believe that being a part of your workforce and team will be a great opportunity to use my
skills and passion for development in bringing relief, and protecting the lives and dignity of people who
are faced with hardship due to one reason or another.

I see and value the immense potential and talent of the youth in development and thus have always
been driven towards participating in the community development and youth empowerment. This belief
has led me to volunteer and work in different roles in different locations such as Ghana, Italy, France,
and Spain over 6 years with internationally and locally respected organizations such as The New York
Times, Worldreader, British Council, Save the Children International among others, where I contributed
by managing and coordinating programs in education, health advocacy, safety and protection of
vulnerable children and others. I also collaborated with Google Ghana and worked for X 95.1fm Radio
presenting live broadcasts on social issues such as Sexual Reproductive Health, Education,
Entrepreneurship, Sports and others regarding young people. These experiences have given me the
opportunity to work in multicultural environments nationally and internationally with professionals from
the fields of academia, health, sports, media, diplomacy and journalism.

My experience and skills will enable me in assessing, evaluating and coordinating the implementation
of SIFs project in Maiduguri. I was involved with a number of notable companies and NGOs in the
development field where I served as an administrator and also helping with managing projects, I
believe that I can and will bring an added advantage to the position. Having lived in Lagos state,
Nigeria for 7 years, I believe that I can and will adapt easily into the work environment. My academic
and professional courses have enabled me to develop my spoken and written English, my team spirit
as well as my sense of diplomacy, which are essential assets for such a position. Beyond the socio-
professional working opportunity that working with SIF will bring me, it will also challenge me in
working in a possibly new environment. I believe that I can make a genuine contribution to your
organizations operations and global humanitarian mission.

What makes me unique and different from others who apply to work with your organization? Aside
growing up partly in an orphanage and getting introduced to the development aid field at an early age,
my practical hands on experience and ability to adapt to any situation and environment gives me an
