HE AROSE!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby

Low in the grave He lay - Jesus my Savior! And feel the pride and joy he gives;
Waiting the coming day - Jesus my Lord! But greater still the calm assurance;
This child can face uncertain days because He lives.
Chorus
Up from the grave He arose, (He arose!) Chorus
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes; (He arose!) Because He lives I can face tomorrow,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain, Because He lives all fear is gone;
And He lives for ever with His saints to reign. Because I know He hold the future
He arose! (He arose!), He arose! (He arose!) And life is worth the living - just because He lives.
Hallelujah! Christ arose!
And then one day I'll cross the river,
Vainly they watch His bed - Jesus my Savior! I'll fight life's final war with pain;
Vainly they seal the dead - Jesus my Lord! And then, as death gives way to victr'ry,
I'll see the lights of glory and - I'll know He lives.
Death cannot keep his prey - Jesus my Savior!
He tore the bars away - Jesus my Lord! THE OLD RUGGED CROSS
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
He arose! (He arose!), He arose! (He arose!) The emblem of suffering and shame;
Hallelujah! Christ arose! And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.
HE LIVES
I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today; Chorus
I know that He is living whatever men may say; So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer, lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And just the time I need Him, He's always near. And exchange it some day for a crown.

Chorus On that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! Has a wondrous attraction for me; For the dear Lamb of
He walks with me and talks with me God left His glory above To bear it to dark Calvary.
Along life's narrow way. He lives, He lives,
Salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
He lives within my heart. A wondrous beauty I see, For 'twas on that old cross Jesus
suffered and died, To pardon and sanctify me.
In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And tho' my heart grows weary I never will despair; To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
I know that He is leading thro' all the stormy blast, Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
The day of His appearing will come at last. Then He'll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I'll share.
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King!
The hope of all who seek Him, the help of all who find,
None other is so loving, so good and kind.

BECAUSE HE LIVES
God sent His Son - they called Him Jesus.
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Chorus
Because He lives I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives all fear is gone;
Because I know He hold the future
And life is worth the living - just because He lives.
