ITEC 7410: Action/Evaluation Plan

Name: Stacey Shoats Semester: Spring 2017

Goal: Skilled Teachers

By the end of the 2017-2018 school year, teachers will be able to determine the Level of Technology
Integration (LoTi) of their own lesson plans or the lesson plans of their colleagues. This goal
addresses the gaps in the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT), as evidenced
by the analysis which indicates a disparity between the skills that teachers perceive they have and
the skills that they use on a daily basis (Shoats, 2017c). This goal is also aligned to the Student
Improvement Plan (SIP), as the goals listed in the plan focus on increasing the number of students
who score in the area of Proficient on the state standardized assessment (Shoats, 2017b). This goal
is also aligned with the International Society for Technology Education (ISTE) Essential
Conditions, as Skilled Personnel are essential to the successful integration of Technology (ISTE
Website, 2017).
Evaluation Method: Success Indicator:
Professional Learning Evaluations 75% of the teaching staff will be able to identify

Goal: Instructional Change
By the end of the 2017-2018 school year, teachers and students will use technology in a blended
format to differentiate, personalize, or individualize instruction. This goal addresses the gaps in the
SWOT analysis, as evidenced by the current reality that teachers use technology to reinforce basic
skills and lower-order thinking skills (Shoats, 2017c). This goal is also aligned with the SIP, as the
goal of the SIP is to improve student achievement in Mathematics, Language Arts, and Science
(Shoats, 2017a). This goal is also aligned with the ISTE Essential Conditions; as effective use of
technology is the basic tenet of technology integration. In addition, this goal is also aligned with
the shared vision for technology at our school. Our goal is to assist teachers with the customization

of relevant learning experiences, which includes using research-based strategies to meet the diverse
needs of learners (Shoats, 2017b).

Goal: Student Focused
By the end of the 2017-2018 school year, 75% of 3rd-5th grade students will demonstrate technology
literacy by producing project-based learning projects. This goal is aligned with the SWOT analysis,
as evidenced of the current reality that students use technology for prescriptive based learning
programs such as Imagine Learning and Study Island (Shoats, 2017c). This goal is also aligned to
the SIP, as the goal of the SIP is to improve academic achievement in Mathematics, Language Arts,
and Science (Shoats, 2017c). This goal also complements the ISTE Essential Conditions; as effective
use of technology is the cornerstone of technology integration.

Goal: Diversity Considerations
By the end of the 2017-2018 school year, 100% of the students will have access to the
computer lab afterschool for a minimum of 5 hours per school week. This goal is
aligned with the SWOT analysis, as evidenced by the current reality that students
experience unequitable and discontinuous use of technology (Shoats, 2017c). This
goal is also aligned with the shared vision for technology, as the vision of our school
is to decrease the digital divide among students who are economically disadvantaged
and who are females (Shoats, 2017b).

Goal: School Related
By the end of the 2017-2018 school year, the grant writing committee would have
identified 3 external funding sources and completed the grant writing process for
each funding source. This goal is aligned to the SWOT analysis, as evidenced by the
current reality that students experience unequitable and discontinuous use due to an
insufficient inventory of operable equipment (Shoats, 2017c). This goal is also
aligned with the shared vision for technology integration. Our goal is to lessen the
digital divide as defined by Gorski (Gorski, 2005). In addition, this goal is also
aligned with ISTEs Essential Conditions for Technology Integration, as students
cannot engage in relevant learning experiences if technology use in unequitable and
disruptive (ISTE Website,n.d).
Evaluation Method: Success Indicator:
