The Amsterdam MBA has designed a two-year, part-time programme to help senior
healthcare industry professionals effectively bridge the gap between their medical and
management responsibilities. Developed in close cooperation with the UvAs Amsterdam
Medical Center, our programme is uniquely positioned to provide top-notch executive
education for professionals who are determined to take the next decisive step in their careers.

Healthcare Management will start in September 2013.

Obtaining your degree will equip you with the skills and expertise to lead your unit more
effectively or to become a successful division manager or a CEO in a healthcare organisation.
You will be able to manage the balance between business results and healthcare quality and
safety issues.
The programme gives you excellent knowledge of the environmental dynamics of your
organisation and sound business principles that help you lead your organisation towards
operational excellence and lasting results. You will effectively balance the interests of the
numerous stakeholders that often make up healthcare organisations. It is our ambition to
deliver a new generation of healthcare managers who, with their professional background and
our combined healthcare and business management education, will be able to deal with the
complex future challenges faced by healthcare organisations.
Application

Special Track in Healthcare Management will start in September 2013.

Applicants are required to hold a recognised university Masters or Bachelors degree.

HBO Bachelor: Candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a "University of


Applied Sciences" (HBO) in the field of business may qualify for admission to the
programme conditional on completition of a qualified pre-Master programme in the field of
business studies or economics.
Work experience: a minimum of five years relevant healthcare experience is required
GMAT: compulsory for applicants with Bachelor degree. Applicants with Master degree are
exempted from this requirement.

Fees MBA
Tuition Fee
Full-time programme 31,000
Part-time programme 35,000
For the International and Dutch students starting in September 2013 the tuition fee for the
full-time programme is 31,000 and for the part-time programme 35,000.
The fee covers the whole programme including courses, international study trip, use of the
MBA facilities, university registration and examination fees. The fee does not cover text
books (an estimate for text books is, depending on the courses you will follow, 600-800),
living expenses and accommodation.
You can pay your tuition fee in equal installments spread over the duration of the programme
(in total 3 installments for full-time students and 6 installments for part-time students).
Early Bird discount
Applications received before April 1, 2013 are eligible for an Early Bird discount of 3,000.
Students should submit the following required documents before April 1, 2013:
a copy of their passport
a letter of motivation
university diploma and transcript
GMAT or GRE
IELTS or TOEFL (unless you are exempted)
UvA alumni tuition fee (10% discount)
All UvA alumni who are applying for the Amsterdam MBA programme at Amsterdam
Business School are eligible for 10% discount on standard tuition fee.
MIF alumni waver
The ABS MIF alumni will be exempted from a few courses (to be decided by the MBA
programme director) and they automatically qualify for the discounted MIF alumni tuition
fee.
The total tuition fee will be calculated based on the remaining number of courses that need to
be taken by the alumni, after confirmed exemptions.
The MIF alumni is eligible to additional 10% discount on the newly calculated fee.
The MBA study trip is optional for the MIF alumni, thus typically it will be excluded from
the calculations (unless the student will opt for taking the course as an elective).
Please note that the results of passed MIF courses examinations, which are the basis for
exemptions for the MBA programme remains valid for three years for full-time students and
five years for part-time students.
If you are the ABS MIF alumni please ask the Admissions Office (admissions-abs@uva.nl)
for your individual offer.
Pay tuition fee at once
Applicant who are planning to pay their tuition fee at once and before April 30, 2013, will
receive a reduction of 5% on their tuition fee.
Enrolment fee (2,000)
If you are admitted to the programme you need to pay an enrolment fee of 2,000 to secure
your place in the Amsterdam MBA. This enrolment fee is part of the total tuition fee.
Tuition fee is tax-deductible
For applicants to the part-time programme who are working in the Netherlands, it is useful to
know that the tuition fee is tax-deductible. For more information, contact the tax authorities

Admissions process
Your application starts with applying online using Embark. This is possible from 1 October
2012 onwards.
In case you are not sure if you meet the admission requirements, you can upload your profile
into our CV Quick Scan to check your eligibility.
If you are confident about your eligibility for the programme we invite you to start your
application. We only accept online applications.
The following documents are required (scans of the original documents suffice for the
application process. After your admission we need to receive the original documents or
certified copies of these documents):
Copy of your passport;
Curriculum vitae;
Transcripts (grade list);
Diplomas;
Motivation letter (stating why you want to pursue an MBA degree, why Amsterdam and the
Amsterdam MBA, your career perspectives, what you are good at and what you want to
work on during the programnme, and your added value to the class. Your letter should not
exceed 700 words);
English test score;
GMAT/GRE score report (if you don't have the results yet, please indicate the date you have
the test scheduled and expecting date of delivering the results);
Two recommendations (in our application system you can request your recommenders to fill
out the online recommendation form. This is mandatory.)
Please find below the process that follows after you applied online:
After receiving your complete application we will evaluate your profile;
In case of a positive outcome we will invite you for the admissions interview.
After the interview your application will be discussed by the Admissions Committee. Within
4 weeks you will receive a final decision.
If you are admitted we will ask you to sign the contract and pay the enrolment fee in order
to secure your place in the Amsterdam MBA programme.
After signing your contract we need to see and or receive your original documents or
certified copies of these documents (i.e. diplomas, transcripts, GMAT score report etc).
After you secured your place in the programme we will arrange your study visa and housing
(if needed; applicable only for full-time international students).

The deadline to be eligible for the Early Bird discount of 3,000 is April 1, 2013 (for

The deadline to receive a 5% discount in case you pay your tuition fee at once, is April 30,
