PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROL

DEM3253 SEMESTER 3 SESSION 2014/2015

1.0 OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this course is to provide students with theoretical knowledge as exercises
to conduct field work on programmable logic controller problems and innovation.

2.0 LEARNING OUTCOME

Upon completion of this course, student must able to:

a. Explain working principle of Programmable Logic Control and its concept. (C2)
b. Apply basic command, interfacing and communication between Computer and
Programmable Logic Control. (P2,C2)
c. Utilizes Programmable Logic Control to show its application in automation system.
(P3,C3)

3.0 SYNOPSIS

This course emphasize on the solid theoretical and practical of programmable logic
controller (PLC). This includes basic mechanism of PLC, basic command, wiring FA training
kit, introduction to CX-Programmer and robot application using CX programmer. The end
of the course, student will apply the skill of program PLC by designing a mechatronics
control system.
