Abstract
Aluminum is the most abundant metallic element in the earth's crust, has a combination of properties that
make it a very useful material, has low density, good resistance to corrosion due to oxide film that forms
on its surface, excellent Electrical and thermal conductivity, non-toxic so it is widely used to contain food,
is soft and ductile. Pure aluminum has little mechanical resistance, so it can be alloyed with other elements
to increase it. Some aluminum alloys may improve their mechanical properties by means of a heat treatment
known as stages: solubilization treatment, rapid cooling and precipitation hardening. The effect of aging on
the mechanical strength of a precipitation hardened alloy is as a function of time and temperature, as the
aging time increases at a given temperature the alloy becomes more resistant to a maximum point, if aging
Continues the alloy becomes over aged and decreases its resistance. Aluminum alloys are mechanically
worked easily either in cold or at elevated temperatures.
