End of Summer Celebration
Sunday, September 12 from 12:30 - 3 p.m.
This is an opportunity to share the love of Christ with our community
and welcome Pastor and Mrs. Kimes home. There are plenty of
opportunities to serve! Mark your calendar today and invite a friend
to join you for food, music and games for all ages!
Saturday Night Fellowship is August 21 from 6-7:30 p.m in the
Fellowship Hall. The theme is One-pot-wonders. Bring a friend and
your favorite one dish meal to share with others.
Adult Co-ed Recreational Basketball meets every Monday at 8 p.m.

Opportunities for Service and Outreach to Our Community and World
URGENT Need for Volunteers - Family Promise is here the week
of August 15-21. We have openings for evening supervision 6:30 -
8:30 p.m., Sunday - Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and meal
preparation and serving for Sunday and Tuesday - Saturday nights
from 5-6:30 p.m. If you would like to serve please, contact Kelli at

Mission Sunday - August 29. Our guest speaker is a representative
from Habitat for Humanity. Come hear how they are changing lives
in our community and how as a church we can support this ministry.

our book discussion group will take place at the

Just Press Play !
Continuing Today: "Just Press Play," a video-based
discipleship series, featuring programs on a variety of Christian topics,
including faith, marriage, parenting, leadership, and many more! These
programs will take place on Sunday mornings through August 22 during
the 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services, in the back section of Fellowship
Hall. Attend any or all of the sessions!
Today's Topic: Finding Replenishment for Overcrowded Lives with Jim
Burns. It's getting near the end of summer, and a busy year is about to
begin. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a road map for life? Actually,
there is… and the lessons are found in the Bible. In this program, Jim
will reveal two of the most important lessons for finding replenishment
for overcrowded lives. (This program is especially great for parents!)
Next week (August 15), our featured program is The Beautiful Fight
with Gary Thomas. Believe it or not, there is a spiritual purpose to living
in a physical body! Gary Thomas explains true Christian transformation
and what it means to become a "God Oasis" in the world. Take an
inspirational look at how faith in Christ radically alters the way we see,
feel, think, hear, and speak.

Opportunities for Congregational Care and Service to the Church
Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." John 21:16b
Lord Jesus when you looked out at the crowds of people,
you had compassion on them because they were harassed
and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. You prayed to
your Father to send laborers out into the field. Guide us now as we look
for people willing to train and serve as Stephen Ministers. Help those
with the gifts for this ministry to hear your calling and step forward so
that we may reach out with compassion to the harassed and helpless
among us. A Training Class for new Stephen Ministers begins
September 8. If God is calling you to this ministry, please visit the
Stephen Ministry table in Fellowship Hall and pick up an application,
look at the training manuals, and speak with a Stephen Minister. All
applications must be returned to Peggy Strack by August 15.
Helping Children & Teens Cope with Grief, a FREE conference with
internationally known author, educator, and grief counselor Dr. Alan D.
Wolfelt is Monday, October 18 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at DeSales
University, Allentown. Registration is required! For information, see
the Congregational Care Bulletin Board in Oberholtzer Hall.
Health Care Equipment is available to anyone who is in need of an
adult potty chair, walker, crutches, cane, tub grab bar, adult diapers,
daily pill box, grabber for items out of reach, or a medi-cap remover,

Painting Party - Anyone interested in helping paint our renovated
basement is asked to contact Connie Moyer at 421-6219 and leave a

office. Tentative time frame is the last two weeks of August.

Children’s Ministry Nursery - Sixth Grade
SonQuest Rainforest was a smashing success! We welcome our
students back today in our 11 a.m. service. We had 142 students
registered; 36 adults and 24 awesome youth volunteers. What an
amazing week we had Following Jesus through the rainforest!

Praise Dance for Youth. This group is for ages 9 and up and meets
every Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. For

• Sunday School is from 11a.m.-12 p.m. We meet in the Office
Building on the 2nd Floor.
• Bible Study meets every Tuesday night in the Youth Room
"tank" from 7-8 p.m.
• Fellowship Event/ Service Project: Saturday, August 21 at
Pocono Plateau. We will work on a service project with them for
the first hour-and-a-half and then enjoy their boating and trails
the next two hours. Please bring a snack and drink for yourself.

for singing at 8:30 and 11 a.m. today. We also wish God’s blessings
as each leaves soon to begin college.
How to Ring Chimes and Bells - Classes for beginners start today at
9-9:40 a.m. in the Bell Room. Interested adults, teens, and children in
at least 3rd grade will be shown basic skills on how to play and read
music. Previous music experience is helpful but not necessary.
Classes will continue for two more Sundays, August 15 & 22.
Persons may attend any or all of the sessions. No obligation to
continue in the fall season, but hoped for. Please contact Norm or
