III. Describing Your Skills and Accomplishments

Are your skills and accomplishments clearly articulated on your CV? Would it be simple for a Residency
Director to quickly identify what you could bring to their program?

Before Sample:
UCSF student-run homeless clinic with volunteer medical residents and physicians who serve the
homeless and transiently housed people of San Francisco. Based at the Multi-Service Center, the
largest homeless shelter in Northern California. Conducted triage and patient intake and coordinated
patient care. Provided health screenings, education and counseling.

After Sample using the ACE formula:
Coordinated with shelter management, physician preceptors, and interdisciplinary teams to
appropriately triage patients with acute and chronic needs while also ensuring patient satisfaction
for the largest homeless shelter with an urgent care clinic in Northern California.
