Backflush

Backflush is a cleaning sequence for the

membrane filters 300F2 and 300F3.
Separate backflush pump 450P1 is used
to generate a pressure shock to the
membranes in order to detach adhered
particles.

Backflush should be activated periodically,

usually in 2 hour intervals when the water
treatment unit is running. Backflush
operation takes only a few seconds and
has following phases (PLC control
sequence):

again valve V414 to purified tank water flow of 4-15l/min from the loop
system keeps backflush tank full at all the
time. Cleaner water is lighter and flows via
overflow line to the dirty water tank and
sludge will accumulate on the bottom of
the backflush tank. Depending on the
water quality in the bottom of the
backflush tank, 200-500 litres is drained
out to belt filter mixing tank in a 24h time.
Please see the belt filter section for further
information.

At all times, the parameters as well as the

standby period are adjustable from the
user interface. Press the membrane filter
button to see the given backflush set point

The backflush water tank is used to collect

dirty backflush water. The tank is
equipped with overflow line to dirty water
tank, vent line, sample cocks and drain-
and discharge connection. Bleed off water
from the loop system is also connected to
the backflush tank.
