Echinacea
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Not FDA approved, but research suggests that
Echinacea activates chemicals in the body that
decrease inflammation to reduce cold and flu
symptoms, stimulates the bodys immune
system, contains some chemicals that can
attack yeast and other fungi directly.
SAFETY
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Asthma or atopy, planning to undergo
transplant surgery.
Caution with heart disease, skin disorders, liver
disorders, in children with colds, abnormally
high iron levels, abnormal WBC count, AIDs,
arthritis or other joint diseases, autoimmune
diseases, cancer, chronic headaches, collagen
disease, HIV, kidney disease, mental disorders,
multiple sclerosis, sleep disorders, stomach
problems, tuberculosis.

Monitor use and dosing, look for potential side
effects, identify any contraindications.
