Remove all electrical power by switching off the main switch.
Remove the plug from the flywheel casing and fit the cranking tool.

Figure 2c: Unacceptable inlet/exhaust/brake lobe wear (several millimetre damage, felt with finger nail) .
Turn the camshaft using the cranking tool. Check the camshaft with regard to wear on the camshaft lobes and damage
to the surfaces.
Figures 1a, 2a and 2b show examples of scoring that will not affect the running of the engine. Camshafts with this type
of scoring need not be replaced .
Figures 1b, 1c and 2c show examples of camshaft with material damage that should not be reused. The rocker arms
corresponding to damages on the cam lobes should be changed when the camshaft is changed.

Remove the cranking tool. Plug in the flywheel casing.
