THE GREAT BARRIER REEF

The Great Barrier Reef is truly one of the great wonders of the natural world
and is an absolute must see.
It is the largest reef in the world stretching some 2,300 kms along the coast of
Queensland and is a World Heritage Area. Reefworld at Hardy Reef Lagoons is the
most outstanding site within the Barrier Reef and is visited by Cruise Whitsundays.
Scientific surveys report nearly 200 different types of fish and over 150 types of coral in
the immediate area of our pontoons.

GETTING TO THE WHITSUNDAYS

Air The Whitsundays are serviced by two domestic airports, The Great Barrier Reef Airport
on Hamilton Island, and the Whitsunday Coast Airport on the mainland at Proserpine.
Direct flights arrive daily from the major Australian East Coast cities. Airlines servicing the
Whitsundays are: Jetstar, Virgin Australia, Tiger Airways, Qantas and Qantaslink.
Road The Bruce Highway runs from Brisbane to Cairns. The Whitsundays turn off is 1 km
north of Proserpine and it is a 20km drive into Airlie Beach.
Rail Queensland Rails services depart Brisbane and Cairns for Proserpine several
times weekly.
Coach/Bus There are several daily services through Airlie Beach that run northbound
from Brisbane and southbound from Cairns.

With over 1,600 species of fish and 1,400 species of coral you will be wide eyed
with wonder at this underwater paradise.
You will cruise on board one of our high speed, modern and well appointed
vessels through the Whitsunday Island National Park, passing by resort islands
and deserted islands, secluded bays and isolated beaches enroute to the outer
Great Barrier Reef. Theres even a good chance youll see our friendly mascot
the turtle!
We have two permanently moored pontoons on the Great Barrier Reef, and
while youll only visit one on your trip, both locations are surrounded by
beautiful coral and stunning reef formations. Youll explore the underwater
wonderland and be in awe of the magnificent corals and abundance of fish
and marine life.
Our pontoons have a choice of spaces to relax in and a large range of activities.
There is undercover seating and tables, sun decks to top up your tan, freshwater
showers, change rooms and full access to the air conditioned comfort of the vessel
tied up to the pontoon during your visit.
There are several different ways to explore the reef from the underwater
viewing chamber and semi-submersibles if you dont want to get wet, or
you can fully immerse yourself by snorkelling, diving and swimming with the
thousands of fish.
The pontoons are adjacent to coral walls in protected areas where you can
explore the length and depth of the reef life in the area. The prolific fish life
will surprise and delight you especially the giant grouper!
All this sea air makes you hungry! Throughout the day you can curb your
hunger with morning and afternoon tea and a sumptuous buffet lunch
prepared by our onboard chef.

the chance to sleep under the stars, 40 nautical miles from shore, on
the Great Barrier Reef!
Our permanently moored pontoon Reefworld is located on Hardy Reef one of the
most spectacular stretches of the Great Barrier Reef and home to world famous Heart
Reef. This is the destination for our day visitors, but for a lucky few, its a once in a life
time, breathtaking and memorable overnight experience.
Reefsleep guests travel to Reefworld onboard our high speed luxury vessels, arriving
around 11am with the day guests. By day, all the amazing activities offered on our
Great Barrier Reef Adventures are there to be enjoyed diving, snorkelling, swimming
with thousands of fish, massages and scenic helicopter flights.
But by 3pm, the day guests depart and you get Reefworld all to
yourself and your fellow Reefsleep guests (maximum 9). A certain
hush settles just the sound of the water, maybe a few sea birds.
As dusk approaches watch for turtles surfacing or coming to nibble

Enjoy two of the most spectacular attractions of the Whitsundays in one day the iconic
Whitehaven Beach and snorkelling at a superb inner reef site. Chalkies Beach lies a short boat
hop away from Whitehaven Beach. Its gorgeous white sandy beach, with easy all tide access
to the fringing reef offers fantastic drift snorkelling with a myriad of different coral and fish
life. Turtle sightings are also frequent. The time of day spent at Chalkies will vary for you to
snorkel at the optimum tide your crew will advise.
Whitehaven Beach is a definite must-see in the Whitsundays. Wander along the silica sand
beach to your own secluded stretch, laze on the each or cool off in the azure waters. It is a
stunning place to just be! Your beach crew have all the gear water, suntan lotion, beach
