Faith/Spirituality

I am very interested in the idea of faith and spirituality. Personally, I am not very

religious. While I have attended church from time to time, it has never been a constant in my life.

It isnt because I dont like it either, it just wasnt clicking with me. However, the idea that faith/

spirituality are separate from religion is important to me. It has to do with a persons core

values, the images of power that drive the person. I feel that I am a spiritual person, though I am

not religious.

Faith and spirituality can be connected to other things, such as culture and myth. Around

the world and all through time, faith and spirituality is present. While it is shown differently, it is

there. Buddhists spend their lives trying to understand the nature of existence. In Peru, people

carry offerings up into the mountains as a group, the idea being that they go as individuals and

leave as a community.

Faith and spirituality is not what many people believe. It goes much deeper than God, and

church. It relates to culture, and in is not always a religious experience. It is how we act and

respond to the world around us, and it can shape our relationships with the people in our lives.

This faith/spirituality can connect someone to the world around them, and is a positive presence

in most peoples lives.
