1.0 INTRODUCTION
This project is part of the KhursaniyahHasbah Gas Development Program to support the
corporate strategy to meet in-Kingdom energy demand and reduce crude burning.
This Program provides for a grassroots gas plant (Fadhili Gas Plant, FGP) to process a total
gas volume of 2,500 MMSCFD, made of 500 MMSCFD from Khursaniyah onshore and 2,000
MMSCFD from Hasbah offshore non-associated sour gas. The Program also provides for
upstream off-shore and on-shore facilities, downstream pipelines and supporting facilities. The
program will produce 1,530 MMSCFD of sales gas and 4,000 MTD of sulfur to meet the Kingdoms
sales gas demand and reduce crude oil burning.
The Hasbah Offshore Gas Facilities Increment II Project (the PROJECT) will provide the offshore
platforms and producing facilities to produce the sour gas to be fed to the FGP under Budget Item
BI 10-01902.
The purpose of the facilities under the PROJECT is to supply, gather and transport the gas from
Hasbah Wellhead Platforms to the FGP. The facilities to be provided within this Budget Item
include six new offshore gas production Wellhead Platforms, two Tie-in Platforms (HASBAH TP-
2 & TP-3), as well as the associated pipelines, power supply and telecommunication systems.
2.0 PURPOSE
