Manager CSEB Production and Construction

The CSEB Manager works under the direct authority of the Managing Director. He/She works in close
relation with the Project Manager to synchronize the tasks.
He/she is responsible for the production of and the construction with CSEB. This project is under
development and the listed tasks are subject to changes and are flexible as for needs.

Job Description

1. Overall Management of CSEB production and CSEB low cost house construction.
Coordinate between the project site & Dhaka office for smooth decision making process.
Project planning, time schedule, organization, supervision & coordination.
Follow up in details the work programs & the manpower.
Financial budgeting and follow-up of expenses of both production and construction sites.
Make transparent reports on the production cost per block. Make transparent report of
construction cost per house. Transfer all costs with supporting documents to Dhaka office.
Assist in the Marketing and Publicity Strategy for CSEB.

2. CSEB Production
Overall Management and planning of the CSEB-Production.
Soil purchase, after soil analysis (in BUET).
Supervision of the Site Engineer, Machine Operator & the Production Team (laborers)
Organize the training of the Production Team (laborers) assisted by the Site Engineer.
Maintenance and operation of the OSKAM semi-automated press with crusher, mixer, press
and generator. Keep manual AURAM press operational. (Assisted by the Machine Operator).
Quality control of the produced CSEBs (Compressive strength tests in BUET).
Site Safety; define the problems & identify the targets for improvements.
Upscale the CSEB production according to the number of planned houses.
Testing of Lime Stabilization and Interlocking CSEB blocks.
Financial Management of the CSEB Production.
Select production sites in other districts with our partner NGOs. Manage the necessary
facilities and local permits. (planned for 2018)

3. CSEB House Construction

Overall Management of the CSEB Low Cost Housing Construction.
Design CSEB-houses in Auto Cad and develop several IHS Standard Packages for IHS clients
(assisted by our Site Engineer).
Target 2017: 10 houses. Target 2018: 50 houses. Target 2019: 100 houses.
Visit construction sites of the clients.
Organize training for the masons in CSEB-masonry.
Organize the house constructions (plinth, walls, roof, and e.g.).
During construction, ensure the daily technical supervision of ongoing work, assisted by our
supervisor team(s).
Keep all necessary data and records in files for transparent analysis.
Financial Management of the Construction.
Assist in technical improvements and research like roofing, plastering, and coloring.
 4. Client management and Publicity
Assist Dhaka Office with the Marketing Agency to make commercial publicity videos, leaflets
and presentations.
Assist in the promotion of CSEB during information sessions for the Micro Finance groups of
IHS Partner NGOs.
Assist with the production of a publicity stand to participate in commercial and professional
exhibitions and expositions. Assist to organize fairs and information meetings with
authorities, stakeholders, clients.
Inform and motivate any interested person or new client on advantage to build with CSEB.

Educational Requirements
M.Sc. /B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (CGPA above 3.25) preferable from reputed Public/Private
University.
Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point and internet.
Good knowledge of Auto Cad design.
Excellent in English.

Profile of the Candidate

Works in a fully transparent and reliable way, under the authority of the MD of HIS.
Works independently, with decision making capacity.
Leadership type, who manages the laborers in the production team as well as in the
construction team.
Has an investigative attitude and an analytical mind.
Is capable to collect information on any new technical issue.
Can make a Business plan, Cost analysis of the Building and of the Production Plant.
Can plan, organize and execute the production of CSEBs.
Can plan, organize and execute the construction of CSEB houses, with the assistance of a
partner architect.
Has in depth knowledge of (rural) house building and of masonry.
Work Experience is an important advantage.

Job Location
Head office of the company is in Dhaka. The Manager spends most of his time in the Project field.
The present Production Site is in Shariatpur and will in 2018 also move to other districts.
(Probable locations are: Satkhira, Sirajganj, Gaibandha and Netrakona)

Salary Range
40,000-up (Negotiable, depending on the qualification and the experience)
