5 SOLUTIONS

Students are often faced with a series of exams or tests at the end of term or semester, which are usually
scheduled closely together. This can lead to great stress for students. The words stress and pressure are
often used interchangeably but in fact they are quite different. Pressure can be positive and useful to
complete deadlines or to help somebody avoid danger. However, when pressure is prolonged, it can
become negative, and depending on how the individual perceives it and reacts to it, it can lead to the
development of stress. The solution to the first problem which is financial problem is they need to seek
help or share their problem with other people. They can search for any states foundation to ask fund on
a preparation for the studies. According to Stauffer (2015, p.1), The federal government mainly provides
financial assistance to individual students and specific research projects, while state funds primarily pay
for the general operations of public institutions. This will decrease the pressure of the students to pay
for their institutions.

The solution for the second problem which is the students cannot handle the pressure of
the tasks given by the lecturer is they have to manage their time wisely. In addition, very often students
are urged to start working on large tasks well before due dates. The large tasks are broken down into
small ones, which are achievable on a regular schedule. Students who regularly ignore these techniques
find themselves in great distress before exams as mentioned by Brown (as cited in Nakalema, 2013).

The third problem which is the worrying levels of anxiety in students can be solved by
rewarding themselves for any achievement, no matter how small it is. According to Morgan (2015, p.1),
If you are feeling stressed about an exam, be sure to reward yourself for your study time. This will
motivate you to continue studying and may even reduce stress. For example, after studying hard for an
hour, take a break and play on the internet for 20 minutes or watch an episode of a TV show that you
enjoy. This will help you get your mind off the exam while acting as a motivational carrot that may help
you pick up studying again after your break.
