Getting Started
This guide will help you install or upgrade Neptune UX Platform on the SAP NetWeaver platform, using Add-On in-
stallation tool. The steps for both Installation and Upgrade are the same. Please also remember to perform post acti-
vities after the installation or upgrade.

The Installation must be performed in Client 000

Important: The Support Package Manager required is 58 or higher

Step 1: Copy Files

Exctract the ZIP file to a local directory.

Installation file

UXP_INSTALL_400.SAR

Upgrade file

UXP_UPGRADE_400.SAR

Step 2: Upload Files

Start transaction SAINT and select from the menu:
Installation Package->Load packages->From Front End

(File too large warning might appear. Press Yes to conti-

nue)

Press decompress to extract the PAT file.

Step 3: Start the Import
Select Neptune Press Continue for next step

Press Continue for next step

Press No to not add any Modification Transports to
the Queue

Press Ok to start the import

If you get Open Data Extraction Requests press skip.

These are open requests to BW, with no effect on Nep-
tune.

After the installation or upgrade complete, you can see

the version of Neptune UX Platform. Press Finish to
complete the process.

Post Activities
Activate Service
Transaction SICF and activate /neptune node

Rightclick on the node and press activate. Select Yes

with all subnodes for /neptune node

Developer Role

Transaction PFCG

Assign the role the Neptune Developers if not already

assigned.

All new functionality will be available inside the role.

Clear Cache
Since the libraries/application are changed, please clear
the server side cache. Start transaction SMICM. In the
MenuGoto -> HTTP Server Cache -> Invalidate ->
Global in system

Check
To be able to check if the installation/upgrade and the
post installation is correct.

Start Neptune Application Designer from the Developer

Role - or transaction /neptune/designer - or program /
neptune/designer from SE38. Enter the Application ID:

/NEPTUNE/ADMIN

Press Run in Browser.

The result should be like this:

Trouble shooting if you are not able to see this screen:

Have you enabled /neptune nodes ?

Is the hostname a valid hostname or not ?

In transaction /neptune/settings you can override

default hostname (reversed proxy etc).

Recommendation
Use Neptune Application Management to protect Appli-
cations from unwanted access. Create policy and assign
them to Neptune Applications.

Set Manifest MIME Type
This step is only needed when using Manifest in the
Application.

Transaction SM30Table SDOKMIME_C and press

Maintain.

Register one entry for Cache
