Adult Ministry

New Adult Sunday School

Do you wonder why there are so many
different denominations? Why some baptize
babies, others baptize teens or adults? Who is
invited to the Lords Table?
All these differences began 500 years ago this
October when Martin Luther posted his 95
Theses on the door of the church at
Wittenberg. Come join the adult class this fall
for Reformation Roots, a video series
exploring just what happened in 1517, events
that led up to it, and why this still matters to us
today. A series of church historians will put
the events and issues in context, and well
explore how the 21st century church is dealing
with some of the same themes. We hope
youll join us.

Eastminster Membership
If you are interested in joining Eastminster, we invite you to speak
with the pastor or
contact her at Pressley@eastminster.com
or 864-517-9781. Members are received by
profession of faith, reaffirmation of faith or
by transfer of church letter.

Are you looking for a way to stay connected with Eastminster?

News and Notes

Welcome Joan Jones
Director of Children &
Middle School Ministries
Joan was born in Alabama and has
lived in Texas, Kentucky,
Virginia, New York, Arkansas and
Georgia and recently moved to
Simpsonville. She is married to
Chris Jones, the interim pastor at
Fountain Inn Presbyterian, and
they have two daughters, Sarah Dianne and Catherine.

Joan s greatest joy is sharing in the lives of children and

youth. She brings many years of children and youth ministry
experience to Eastminster. Joan has directed Presbytery summer
camps for middle school and children as well as keynoted youth and
elementary retreats. She is also very active at Montreat Youth
Conferences having served on planning teams for Middle School
and Co-directed Middle and High School Conferences. She has
also served as Preschool Director and a preschool teacher for the past 20 years.

Joan loves sharing the stories of our faith and walking alongside children, youth and their families as we grow in faith
together. She is looking forward to sharing in Sunday School, youth groups, intergenerational events and the worshipping
community of EPC.

In her free time, Joan loves to cook and entertain, spend time at the beach, loves everything about college football and is
happiest when her girls are home for a visit! She and Chris both attended the University of Alabama so they love
cheering on the Tide.
