4. The Installation and Connection of Air Duct

Please select appropriate air duct according to the unit air quantity and unit static pressure. Make heat
insulation to the air ducts. The heat insulating material should contain moisture proof layer to prevent from
absorbing the steam.

Note: Before the air outlet duct connects to the bent duct from the air outlet, straight duct whose size is at
least twice of the air outlet must be maintained. Otherwise, it will cause additional wind pressure loss.

(1) Install air regulation valve on the air-supply duct and the air outlet duct for easy system debugging and
adjust the air rate and pressure. The air inlet and air outlet should be connected to air inlet duct and air
outlet duct with flexible joint.
(2) The unit should not bear the weight of external duct. Try to support and fix all the air inlet ducts and air
outlet ducts.
(3) When installing the ducts, the maintenance space of the unit must be considered.

5. The Installation and Connection of Water Pipe

The installation of all the pipe system must be complied with local regulations

(1) The application pressure of the surface cooler and the hot water heater should not exceed 1.6MPa. Use pipe
thread (wrapped with raw material band) or flange to connect the water inlet pipe and the water outlet pipe.
The connection type of the water pipe is down inlet, up outlet. (See Fig. 19-Water Inlet Pipe and Water
Outlet Pipe schematic Drawing of the Coil)

(3) Install control valve on the water inlet pipe and water outlet pipe of the unit (except condensate drain pipe)
to adjust the flow rate and switch off the water supply when maintaining. Take heat insulation measures on
the water inlet pipe and outlet pipe of the unit. U water seal must be installed on each condensate drain
pipe. See U Water Seal Installation Schematic Diagram in Fig.2.
(4) Manometer and thermometer should be installed on the water inlet pipe and water outlet pipe of the unit to
monitor the water system.
6. The Laying and Connection of Electrical Wire
(1) All electrical wires laying should comply with local electric statute. Before laying, check whether the power
and electric wire meet the requirements according to the parameters on the nameplate of the unit.
(2) The wiring hole of the unit is set on the side of the access door of the fan section. Connect power wire that
comes from the working place and has been separated by switch to the terminal box of the motor of the unit.
PTC thermal protector is embedded in the motor, please follow the wiring diagram shown in previous
section of this manual for wiring.
(3) Electrical wire connection of the electric heating coil
Configure the electrical appliance and wire according to the electric heating connection diagram and
elementary diagram of the unit, and connect correctly. The metal case of electrical heating coil must be well
grounded.
To ensure that the over temperature in the unit will automatically switch off the heating power supply, the
temperature relay signals of the electric heating coil must be switched in the electric heating controller.
To ensure that when the fan is power off, the heating power supply cannot be connected, the electric heating
control should control interlockingly the fan and the electric heating coils.

Commissioning
1. Preparation
Check the following contents before operate the unit normally:
(1) The system should be correct, unobstructed and without leakage.
(2) The power wire should be correctly connected, safe and fixed.
(3) The wind system should be safe, reliable, correct and clear in the duct.
(4) Confirm that the retaining board on the spring shock absorber on the blower fan base has been removed (see
Fig.21-Blower Fan Retaining Board Removal Schematic Diagram).
(5) Check for construction relic in the fan case.

11
Maintenance
(6) Manually rotate the belt pulley of the blower fan, and check whether the wheel knocks the case and check
for flexible rotation.
(7) Rotation direction of the blower fan should be correct.

Before starting the unit, please remove the retaining board:

Please take off the self-tapping screw

Take out the retaining board

Fig. 21-Blower Fan Retaining Board Removal Schematic Diagram

2. Unit Starting up and Shutting down

(1) The case structure of the unit is designed according to operating pressure. Pay attention to the position of the
inlet and outlet control valves of the unit to avoid high pressure difference inside and outside of the unit,
which will cause permanent deformation to the case of the unit, even damage the unit.
(2) When supplying water to the unit, the air escape valve should be opened first to drain the air in the pipe.
(3) For all fresh air unit, when the temperature of the fresh air is below 2, preheating coil should be opened
first or other corresponding protective measures should be taken to prevent the coil in the unit from frost
crack.
(4) For unit with humidification function, start up the fan first, then open the steam (water), and when shutting
down, shut down the steam (water) first, then the fan.
(5) Unit starting up process: Supply water (steam) to the surface cooler and the heater first, and then start up the
motor of the fan.
(6) When shutting down in winter, shut down the fan first, and then switch off the power supply to avoid the
coil from frost crack.
(7) When shutting down in summer, close the valve of coil first, then shut down the fan after 5 minutes to avoid
the condensed water overflow the drain pan.
(8) Before the air conditioner purification system operates, set temporary filter (e.g. non-woven fabrics) at the
inlet of return air and fresh air and ahead of the roughing and medium efficiency filters to protect the
system. The overhauling and adjustment of the air conditioner purification system can be executed only
after the system has been cleared completely and operated over 24 hours and run steady.

Maintenance
1. Fan Transmission System.
When operateng the unit , pay regular attention to the operation condition of the fan, and periodically check
the degree of tightness of the belt and the condition of the bearing.
(1) Belt tightness adjustment: Suitable tightness is very important on preventing fan vibration and reducing belt
abrasion and noise. The user should check the tightness of the belt weekly and make necessary adjustment
according to the following procedures:
a. Screw off the four fixing bolts of the motor, and move the motor by screwing the adjustable bolt.
b. Use a finger to vertically press the middle section of the belt, and produce corresponding deflection distance
by adjusting the tightness of the belt (see Fig. 22-Belt Pulley Calibration and Belt Tightness Schematic
Diagram).
c. Screw up the four fixing bolts of the motor.

12
Maintenance

Fig. 22-Belt pulley schemtic diagram Calibration and Belt Tightness

(2) Belt pulley calibration: The belt pulleys of the fan and the motor should be placed on a same surface,
otherwise, more energy will be consumed and the service life of the belt will be shortened. Check for the
correct position of the two belt pulleys after adjustment each time. Place straight scale at the same side of
the two belt pulleys to check the straightness, if not correct, screw off the fixing bolt of the belt pulley of
the motor, slide the belt pulley of the fan in the direction of the fan axis, and adjust the angle by releasing
the motor on the motor base until the straightness2mm.
Note:
1. After adjusting, the belt pulley should meet the straightness and tightness requirements.
2. After new belt has been used for 24 hours accumulatively, the tightness of the belt must be checked,
and make appropriate adjustment. Inappropriate adjustment and no adjustment will greatly shorten the
service life of the belt, and even cause belt rupture.
3. Belt is fugitive material. Generally, when a new belt has been used for over 1/2 year accumulatively,
inactivation such as abrasion etc. Will occur, and at that time, the belt should be changed for a new one.
When dealing with multi-belt transmission, the same group of belts should be changed at the same time.
(3) Bearing lubrication: After running for a period of time, the bearing lubrication should be checked in
according to the lubrication periods and exchanged if needed. To exchange grease, please add grease till
new grease is squeezed out. General lithium base grease No.3 (ZL-3) must be used (Shell is recommended).
Inverval to exchange grease at common conditions is shown in below form.
Environment Operating Interval to exchange
Shaft type dn
condition temperature () grease(hours)
Standard 40000 Normal -15~80 1500~3000
Standard 70000 Normal -15~80 1000~2000
Standard 70000 Normal 80~100 500~700
Standard 70000 High dust -15~100 100~500
Standard 70000 Water-contact -15~100 30~100
dn=shaft inner diameter (mm)*fan speed (RPM).
Note: 1. If the interval between unit ex-factory and unit first operation is more than half a year,
grease must be exchanged before unit first operation.
2. When lubricating again, the nozzle tip should be cleaned. After the grease has been added,
put on the plastic cover of the grease hole on the bearing seat to prevent the lubricating grease from
being polluted by outside materials.
2. The cleaning/changing and using of air filter
(1) Clean/change the filter under the following situations:
a. Before first staring up;
b. After the unit has been operated for three months (shorten the time appropriately according to the working
environment).
c. Install resistance monitor device on the filter section, and clean/change the filter when the resistance of the
filter has arrived at end resistance. For filters of non-woven fabrics, they can be rinsed once or twice; for
metal mesh filters, they can be rinsed repeatedly to use.
(2) Cleaning method of the filter: Soak the filter in soap solution cleaning agent or water with proper
concentration, and rub gently. Before installing it again, rinse it with clean water and dry.

13
Maintenance
(3) High efficiency filter (including sub-high filter and carbon filter) should be unpacked on the spot and
installed in clean room after the whole air conditioner purification system has been cleaned and the system
run continuously for more than 12 hours. Before installation, the filter should not have damages such as
deformation, shedding and rupture etc. If qualified, install it immediately in the correct direction. After
installation, the high efficiency filter surrounding and its interface should be sealed and tight.
3. Regular clean the surface of cooler, heater, drift eliminator or blow the dust off.
4. After the surface cooler and the heater have worked for 2~3 years, apply chemical method to clean, and
remove the scale incrustation in the pipe.
5. Check the electrical appliance equipment of the unit and lubrication section of transmission regularly.
6. When the unit is shut down, if the surface cooler and the heater are in the temperature of 0 or below, drain
the water in the pipe away, close the fresh air valve, or add antifreezing agent into the duct such as ethylene
glycol solution to prevent the surface cooler and the heater from frost crack.
Drainage steps:
Close the valves of the water inlet and outlet pipes;
Slowly open the air escape valve on the return pipe of the unit;
Slowly open the water drain valve on the water inlet pipe of the unit;
Wait until the water has been drained away. (When reinstalling, wrap the pipes with raw material and tighten
them up)

Cautions
1. The air supply temperature of the unit should not exceed 80 (heating). If the temperature over this is
required, please bring this requirement to our company when ordering to make it convenient for us to adopt
high temperature bearing and motor with special requirements.
2. The water supply temperature and flow rate in the heat exchanger should meet the relevant requirements: Use
demineralized water, and generally, the cold water inlet temperature is around 7 with the flow rate of
0.5m/s; generally, the hot water inlet temperature is around 60 with the flow rate of 0.5~1m/s.
3. When starting up, use the air volume control valve in the regulating air duct system to control the working
current within the rated current of the motor. Operation with super-air volume or supercurrent is not allowed.
4. When the unit leaves the factory, the coil is dry. If the user installs the unit under low temperature environment
in the winter and the air conditioning system does not have time to supply hot water to warm, DO NOT add
water pump pressure in the water pipe system and the coil in the unit.
5. When the working temperature of the unit or air inlet temperature is 2, the water pump system should
never stop supplying hot water of 60 cycling in the coil of the unit with the flow velocity no less than 1m/s.
6. When the working temperature of the fresh air unit or air inlet temperature is 2,pre-heating device should
be set at the air inlet of the unit, and sealed control valve and antifreeze switch should be installed at the fresh
air inlet, and interlocked with the blower.
