Brief Employment History

2010 2017 - Head of EHS&Q Nuclear Jacobs UK

I supported and mentored a team of 14 safety and quality professionals, and 800 trade personnel
in civil, mechanical and electrical trades in new build decom and asset care of buildings
refurbishment and end of life on the nuclear site at Sellafield and across to Hull at British Steel
(Tata). I secured bridge packages circa 2m for the Cumbria County Council Bridge refurbishment
and supported works at the Oil and Gas terminals at Heysham in Morecambe and Barrow, as well
as tendering works for the BAE and Kimberly Clark in Barrow and AWE Weapons at Urenco in
Cheshire. Main work was at Sellafield 75m 6yr frameworks.

2008 2010 Senior EHSQ Manager Sellafield Ltd

Employed by Sellafield Ltd in Zone 3 EHS&Q team, where I was head hunted specially for a
project of decommissioning a Nuclear facility (most dangerous nuclear building in Europe) with
use of contractors, pulling from my experience of working with sub-contractors in safety, while
safely bringing one building up to scratch for extending its life span, also building a new
building to handle the transfer into SPP1. This project brought all of my skills out into the
open, with HazOp, HazCon, meetings, Constructability reviews and project management skills
for planning large crane proposals to document reviewing with the Compliance team. I was the
Lead Work at Height Safety SME and point of call for civils and mechanical construction
safety on SPP1 and with an alliance team of safety advisors I had to co-ordinate and make
best use of safety cover while the project grew from a concrete site to a building with many
vessels and voids. I worked closely with both sub- contract construction Managers for both
projects, assisted in site inspections, audits and risk assessment review for the contractors for
Sellafield.
I have worked with National contractor companies, Balfour Beatty, Doosan Babcock and Kier,
with Carillion, React, J F Nuclear and ACTIV alliance on the nuclear site and some off site.

2005 2008 HR & HSEQ Manager Shepley Dawson Eng. Ltd

employees and 260 sub contractors, on projects providing structural and
architectural glazing systems, including voids, balustrades, walkway systems and

BBC House, Greenwich, London Balfour Beatty
Liverpool 1, Liverpool Town Centre Regeneration project Laing O Rourke
St. Davids 2, Cardiff, Shopping Centre - Bovis Lend Lease
ODEON Cinema, Liverpool Multibuild

1995 2005 National QSHE Manager Everest Ltd

Work in glazing and structures on various national projects.
Managed a team of 31 Branch Managers, trained them to safety and quality standards and
mentored a sub contract workforce of around 3000 joiners and tradesmen nationally.

1993 1995 Safety Advisor Johnson Controls Ltd

Working in Nuclear for Johnson Controls, refurbishment of high level windows and
cladding at Sellafield Ltd site.
