1. Pleasereadtheinstructions,procedureandInformationBulletincarefullybeforeyoustartfillingtheApplicationForm.

2. CandidatecanapplyforJEE(Main)2017ONLINEonlythroughofficialwebsiteofJEE(Main)(www.jeemain.nic.in).

3. PleaseensurethatyouarefillinggenuineApplicationFormavailableonlineatJEE(Main)website(www.jeemain.nic.in).

4. PleaseensureyoureligibilityasperthecriterialaiddownforJEE(Main),JEE(Advanced)andparticipatingStateInstitutions(as
applicable).

5. RequirementofAadhaarClarification

(I)AlltheIndiancitizencandidatesshouldpossessAADHAARcardissuedbyUIDAI.AtthetimeoffillingapplicationformofJEE
(Main)2017,thecandidateswillhavetoentertheirAADHAARnumber,name,dateofbirth&genderwhichwillbevalidatedwith
theUIDAIsdata.Incase,theseparticularsdonotmatch,thecandidateswillnotbeabletofilltheapplicationformforJEE
(Main)2017.Therefore,thecandidatesareadvisedtoensurethattheirAADHAARcardhascorrectdetailsoftheirname,dateof
birth&genderasperschoolrecords.Ifthereissomemismatchinthesedetails,thecandidatesshouldimmediatelygetit
correctedinAADHAARdataorschoolrecords,asthecasemaybe.

(II)ApplicantsnotyetenrolledforAadhaar,areherebyrequiredtomakeapplicationforAadhaarenrolmentincasehe/sheis
entitledtoobtainAadhaaraspersection3ofAadhaarAct.SuchapplicantmayvisitanyAadhaarenrolmentcenter(listavailable
atwww.uidai.gov.in)togetenrolledforAadhaar.

(III)InordertofacilitiatesuchapplicantswhoarenothavingAadhaar,theCBSEhasspeciallysetupfacilitationcentresineach
cityofexaminationforthepurposeofAadhaarenrolment.Theapplicantscanapproachsuchfacilitationcentreswhowillnot
chargeanyamountfromanyapplicantforAadhaarenrolment.Thelistofthefacilitationcentreisavailableon
www.jeemain.nic.in.TheseapplicantswhohaveenrolledforAadhaarandhavenotreceivedAadhaarshouldenter28digit
AadhaarEnrolmentIDprintedontheAadhaarenrolmentslipatthetimeoffillingonlineapplicationformforJEE(Main)2017.

(IV)IncaseAadhaarenrolmentfacilityisnotavailableatthefacilitationcentres,theapplicantsshouldsubmitarequestfor
Aadhaarenrolment.Thefacilitationcentrewillissuearegistrationnumbertosuchapplicants.Thisregistrationnumbershouldbe
enteredbytheapplicantsatthetimeoffillingonlineapplicationformforJEE(Main)2017.

(V)TheaboveprovisionsshallbeapplicableinallstatesexceptJ&K,Assam&Meghalaya.

(VI)TheapplicantswhohavepassedorappearinginClassXIIexaminationfromthestatesofJ&K,Assam&Meghalayaneedto
enterthepassportnumber,rationcardnumber,bankaccountnumberoranyothervalidGovt.identitynumberprovidedthey
shouldselectthecityofexaminationinthesestatesonly.Theonlineapplicationprocesswillstartfrom01stDecember,2016
onwards.Thelastdateforapplicationis02ndJanuary,2017andfeecanbepaidupto03rdJanuary2017.

6. ExaminationFees

8. CandidateisallowedtosubmitonlyoneApplicationForm.MultipleApplicationsofacandidateareliabletoberejected.

9. ApplicationProcedure:3SimpleStepstobefollowedtoapplyonline

Step1: FilltheOnlineApplicationForm,chooseyourPasswordandnotedownsystemgeneratedApplication
Number.

ThecandidateshouldsupplyallthedetailswhilefillingtheOnlineApplicationFormandalsorequiredtochoose
PASSWORDandSecurityQuestionandenterhis/herAnswer.Aftersuccessfulsubmissionofthedata,Application
numberwillbegeneratedanditwillbeusedtocompletetheremainingStepsoftheApplicationFormandalso
requiredforallfuturecorrespondence.Forsubsequentlogins,candidatewillbeabletologindirectlywithhis/her
respectivesystemgeneratedApplicationNumberandchosenPassword.

Step2: UploadScannedImagesofPhotographandSignature:

ThescannedimagesofphotographandSignatureshouldbeinjpg/jpegformatonly.
Sizeofthephotoimagemustbegreaterthan4kbandlessthan40kb.
Sizeofthesignatureimagemustbegreaterthan1kbandlessthan30kb.
Dimensionofphotographimageshouldbe3.5cm(width)x4.5cm(Height)only.
Dimensionofsignatureimageshouldbe3.5cm(length)x1.5cm(Height)only.

NOTE:TheCandidatewillbeabletomodify/correcttheparticularsbeforethepaymentoffees.Oncethepayment
offeehasbeenmade/eChallandownloaded,candidateparticularscannotbeedited.

Step3: PayExaminationFeebydebit/creditcardoreChallanofSyndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFCBank:

Payment by Debit/Credit Card:ThecandidatehastoselectDebit/CreditCardoptiontopaytheapplicationfee
andfollowtheonlineinstructiontocompletethepaymentoffee.Aftersuccessfulpayment,candidatewillbeableto
printtheacknowledgmentPage.Incasetheacknowledgmentpageisnotgeneratedafterpaymentoffeethenthe
transaction is cancelled and amount will be refunded to the candidate account with in a week and however the
candidatehastomakeanothertransactiontilltheAcknowledgmentPageisnotgenerated


Payment by Bank echallan: The candidate has to select bank (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC) to deposit the
applicationfeethrougheChallanmode.Assoonashe/sheselects,aneChallanwillbegeneratedcontainingspecific
detailsofthecandidatealongwithamounttobepaid.Thecandidatehastotakeaprintoutofthesameandtakeit
to the nearest branch of the selected bank for making payment. After the confirmation of fee deposited from
Bank/CBSE,thecandidatewillbeabletoprinttheAcknowledgmentPage.IncasetheAcknowledgmentPageisnot
generated,thecandidateshouldcontacttheconcernedbank/branchtoupdatehis/hertransaction.

10. Selectionofdate/slotofComputerBasedExaminationofPaper1:

Thecandidate,whohasoptedforComputerBasedExaminationofPaper1,shouldselectthedate/slotafterpaymentof
ExaminationFee.Thecandidate,whodoesnotselectthedate/slot,willbeallottedthedate/slotonrandombasisdependingupon
availability.

11. ImportantInstructionaboutPASSWORD

Duringonlineformfilling,candidatewillberequiredtochoosePASSWORDandSecurityQuestion and its Answer. Candidate is

advisedtorecord/remembertheirpasswordforallfuturelogins.
ThePasswordmustbeasperthefollowingPasswordpolicy.
Passwordmustbe8to13characterlong.
PasswordmusthaveatleastoneUppercasealphabet.
PasswordmusthaveatleastoneLowercasealphabet.
Passwordmusthaveatleastonenumericvalue.
Passwordmusthaveatleastonespecialcharacterseg.!@#$%^&*
Forsubsequentlogins,candidatewillbeabletologindirectlywiththeirrespectivesystemgeneratedApplicationNumberandthe
chosenPassword.
Candidateisadvisednottodiscloseorsharetheirpasswordwithanybody.NeitherCBSEnorNICwillberesponsibleforviolation
ormisuseofthepasswordofacandidate.
Candidatecanchangehis/herpasswordsafterlogin,ifdesired.
Candidateshouldremembertologoutattheendoftheirsessionsothattheparticularsofthecandidatecannotbetamperedor
modifiedbyunauthorizedpersons.

12. AllcorrespondencerelatedtoJEE(Main)2017shouldbeaddressedtotheExecutiveDirector,JEE(Main),CentralBoardof
SecondaryEducation(CBSE),PlotNo.149,BlockH,Sector63,Noida201309,DisttGautamBudhNagar(U.P.).
 13. Theapplicationno.printedonthecomputergeneratedAcknowledgementPagemustbementionedinallsuchcorrespondences.It
isthereforeessentialtonotedowntheapplicationnumberprintedontheAcknowledgementPage.
