Psychology

Because we are going to discuss about the bridges or the relationship of the
different branches of social sciences with one another, we should first know what
is this branch of social and what is this branch of social in order to connect the two.

I know all of you have a background knowledge about psychology, I know some of
you will say that it is study of the mind and its functions , the behavior and etc.

Psychology comes from the Latin for the study of the soul.

And while its definition has evolved over the last several decades, today we can
safely define it as:

- Scientific Study and analysis of human behavior and mental processes.

IN study and analysis of mental processes, that includes the brain , its functions,
how it works, what are we thinking, what are our thoughts and etc. and it is not
only about studying the brain and its function but also analyzing a persons
thought or mental ability.

IN human behavior, it is the next one after mental processes because what we
are thinking will be our action or how we are going to act or behave. Just like in
the mental processes it is not only about the study of the behavior or the way we
act because experts in psychology which called psychologists are studying and
also analyzing the behavior of an individual.

Psychology is not only about that because it also embraces all aspects of
conscious and unconscious experience as well as thought. Wether we are
conscious or sleeping, just like our dreams, even though we are sleeping our
brain is still working.

It is a social science that seeks to understand the individuals and groups by

establishing general principles and researching specific cases.

Because we already know the meaning of psychology, lets now connect this to
another branch of social science which is anthropology.
Psychology which is the scientific study of human behavior and mental
processes is related in Anthropology which is the study of humans, past and
present. "science of man". What makes us man. Anthropology studies the
history, evolution and the development of human civilization. It is concerned with
the social problems of primitive man and their culture, tradition, customs, and
manners.

To make it short Psychology is about the human behavior while anthropology is

the study of mankind, their culture, tradition and manners.

Psychology studies how these cultural factors influence the human behavior.

Their relation is that both psychology and anthropology try to understand man in
the context of social behavior. In this way psychology and anthropology are
complementary to each other. Psychology helps anthropologists in understanding
the causes of human behavior while anthropology helps psychologists in analyzing
the influence of culture to human behavior.

By studying different primitive cultures, anthropologists have shown how human

behavior differs in different cultural environments.

Thus, there is a close relationship between anthropology and psychology.

Example of a scenario that anthropology is related to psychology.

Hal nalang nasa kultura nyo na, Our chart shows psychology in the center and this
psychology is interconnected to this branches of social science and this branches of
social science is also connected to psychology with the use of the arrows. This
branch of social science are all connected to each other , psychology has a
connection to all of this.
