REFLECTIVE ESSAY : SURGERY POSTING

Surgery posting has finally come to an end and it was an enjoyable learning experience to
say the least. I spent 8 weeks in surgery including general surgery, cardiothoracic, plastic surgery,
and neurosurgery. First and foremost, I was very to lucky to have lecturers like Prof kalai, Prog Ng,
Prof Raja Amin and few others whom are among the most dedicated doctors I have ever seen. Truly
inspirational to us all.

The most teaching we had was during general surgery, where we covered most of the
important cases with the associated communication skills and physical examination. Aside from
bedside teaching, we were also exposed to observing live surgery, lectures, clinic sessions and
clinical skills.

I am looking forward to Surgery in 3.2 to reapply learned knowledge and to add in with new
skills in order to improve and prepare myself in becoming a competent and safe doctor in the future.
