ARTIST
ARTIST STATEMENT
David Livingston is an artist who resides the Northern Black Hills of South Dakota where he
is surrounded by constant inspiration. As an artist he is always interested in exploring new
mediums including the dramatic arts, but his favorites are currently working with pastels
and acrylics.
His artwork is entrancing as to invite the viewer to pause and go on an enchanted journey
through their own subconscious interpretations of the meanings (or non-meanings) of the
rich imagery and figures that appear and disappear throughout his works.
David has a style that could best be described as vibratious. He picks up on the vibrations
of a community or place and intuitively (playfully) captures the energy of what is
happening there.
His work is energizing as the variations on colors is unique yet somehow familiar to the
receiver. The colors are bold and bright and create real energizing effect in their unusual
places and combinations.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Performed live art on stage with Useful Jenkins during the Deadwood Jam.
Interacting with tens of thousands of tourists as a historical reenactor.
Inspired local business to incorporate art gallery in their public areas to raise funds
for developing artists.
