8) ATA 26 FIRE PROTECTION
A smoke detection system that meets the
one-minute detection requirements will be
installed to monitor the main deck.

The system will alert the flight crew on the


flight deck by both aural and visual alerts.

This system will provide detection and


alerting only; no fire-extinguishing agents will
be provided for main deck fire suppression.

The flight deck unit will not only provide
smoke detection system status.

As a part of the Class E firefighting


procedures, the flight crew will shut off the
airflow to the cargo compartment by pushing
a switch on this panel.

Annunciator lights will indicate if the shutoff


valves are open or closed.
