 Materials

2 different FQ of cotton fabric : one for exterior and another for lining

Less than yd of medium weight fusible interfacing - Pellon SF101

Shape-Flex | Vilene G700

Less than yd of fleece - Vilene H630 | Pellon 987F fusible fleece

One KAM snap or other closing of your choice

Printing

When printing set scaling to none or 100% in your printer properties. A 1

(2.5 cm) test square is included with the pattern pieces

Sewing basics

Seam Allowance (SA) : Seam allowance is (7 mm) unless otherwise

specified. The SA is included in the pattern pieces.
RS : Right Side. All pieces are sewn RS together, unless otherwise indicated.
WS : Wrong Side.
Backstitch : You should backstitch always at the beginning and end of each
seam, except when indicated.
Basting Stitch : Sewing using a longer stitch length.
Topstitch : Sewing using a longer stitch length.

NOTE : This is not a pattern, it is just a tutorial with pattern pieces.

 CRISSCROSS CARDS TUTORIAL

Preparation

1 - Print and cut all pattern pieces along the solid lines. On the wrong side
of the fabric, trace with an erasable marking pen and cut all fabrics. Cut
interfacing for exterior, lining and pockets and the fleece for the body. All
instructions are on each pattern piece.

2 - Fuse the interfacing on all the fabrics and the fleece to the exterior fabric
on top of the interfacing, making sure to centre.

Assembling
1 - Fold in half wrong sides together one pocket fabric, aligning all the raw
edges so it forms a triangle, press. Repeat to make the other 3. Topstitch at
1/8 along the folded edge of the 4 triangles.

2 - Take the lining piece (Lining Body - B) and put one of the triangles on one
of the corners, aligning the raw edges of the triangle with the corner of the
lining. Pin/clip. Repeat to apply the other 3 triangles (like on the dashed lines
on Lining Body - B). Baste all around at 1/8 to secure the pockets.

 3 - Take the lining flap piece and put it right sides together with the previous
lining piece, aligning the straight raw edge of the flap with one of the shorter
sides of the lining piece. Sew with 3/8 SA.

4 - Press the flap fabric way from the card pocket. Flip to the WS and grade
the pockets side SA to about 1/8.

5 - Using the pattern piece (Full Body - A) mark the location of the female
part of the snap on to the exterior fabric and the location of the male part of
the snap on to the lining. Do not apply yet the snaps.

Finishing

1 - Take the exterior and lining pieces and join them right sides together,
aligning all the edges. Pin/clip all around and sew around with 1/4 SA
leaving an opening of about 3 for turning on one of the sides.

2- Clip the corners and trim all around to 1/8 to remove bulk from the side
seams, Do no trim the unsewn seam allowance.

3 - Turn RIGHT SIDES OUT through the opening and arrange by hand the
corners until its all straight. Fold in the unsewn edges and press well the
entire pouch.

4- Apply now the female snap on the exterior fabric through the opening.
Hand sew the opening. Topstitch all around at 1/8 and/or 1/4 .

5 - Using the mark made on the lining previously, apply the male snap and
you are done!
