saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they
were like sheep without a shepherd (Mk 6:34). Jesus and the dis-
ciples had gone for rest. But seeing the crowd he felt compassion for
them and he started preaching the Gospel. And we know what had
happened after that. Since it was a deserted place it was rather late
for the crowd to return to their respective villages. Realising this, Jesus
called the disciples (whom he had sent for rest !) and he said to them,
Give them some food yourselves (Mk 6:37). They thought of going
and buying food. But Jesus took the five loaves of bread and two fish
which the apostles had and he multiplied them. .....And gave them to
disciples to set before the people (Mk 6:41).
Let us reflect on this. Let us rest a while, was the Masters
advice. They heeded, and they went to a lonely place away from the
crowd, yet they could not take rest. Instead, their burdens and tasks
increased. It became not only the great difficulty of serving the 5000 Let the fire of Christs love

not have committed such a great sin - the first murder.

Jesus tells lovingly: leave them alone. Those who are anointed with

Sin had taken its root on the earth through disobedience. Through

reaches fullness through their mutual offering to one another. The
foundation of each of our life was laid when our parents became one

life rooted and grounded in love. We learn another principle from this.
Divine life is the mutual love between persons. As the divine life in a
person decreases, his divine strength also decreases in his inmost.
That is why St. Paul in the above letter writes this: that He may grant
you in accord with the riches of his glory to be strengthened with
power through his spirit in the inner self (Eph 3:16).

God bestows a one hundred percent love to our parents in or-
