ADULT COURSES
Atlantic Language Galway offers a broad range of courses that have been carefully designed and prepared to meet
the general and particular needs of the students who choose us as their location to learn and enhance their English
language skills. Our courses can be grouped under four titles:
General English choices suitable for those who wish to broadly develop their English language skills. These courses
can be combined and supplemented with a choice of elective options
Examination Preparation courses for those who seek the challenge of successfully completing certification in
English language competency
Specialised Courses for groups of adult students focusing on topics such as business communications, over 50s
courses and tourism, to name a few. The school also offers academic preparation courses, pre-university and pre-
masters conversion courses, and

The Intensive English course is structured to provide a solid grounding and improvement in the core language skills

EXAMINATION PREPARATION COURSES
Students who wish to pursue the challenge of undertaking the Cambridge Examinations in English will benefit from
our Cambridge Examination Preparation courses. These courses are offered for both the First Certificate in English
(FCE) and the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE). Cambridge Preparation courses are based on closed group
tuition classes, each one beginning either 6, 10 or 13 weeks before the scheduled examination sessions taking
place in Galway in March, June and December.

Discover Ireland West for the Over 50s
The West of Ireland has so much to discover and enjoy; exploring this wonderful region is great fun with a closed
group of like-minded people. This course involves English language lessons in morning classes and opens up a
world of opportunities for afternoon and weekend activities, including:
• Visiting mountains, lakes, farms and castles located on the west coast of Ireland
• Enjoying a traditional Irish meal in a traditional farm cottage
• Learning to play a traditional Irish musical instrument, e.g. the bodhrán or tin whistle
• Learning about and experiencing Irish history and culture

Atlantic Language Galway offers a diverse range of choices for junior students. While offering summer courses for
individual students we also specialise in customised courses for groups of junior students according to request. Our
options for junior students incorporate tuition, accommodation, airport transfers and elective excursion and activity

Junior Winter Short-Stay Programme
Over the past number of years our Junior Winter Short-Stay Programme has developed into a unique language
holiday programme suitable for second level students from across the globe. These groups have the option of a 7 or
14 day stay with English language lessons in the mornings and a range of afternoon and evening activities.
Location Classes take place at Atlantic Language Galway Adult School. On some occasions
additional classrooms are rented at Park College, a private school located seven minutes
walk from our adult centre.
