known from view is a project that examines an increasingly frequent situation in the contemporary
urban context: apartment building with opposite windows too close. Views that dont show the
city and the landscape, but someone elses life nearby. Neighbors who dont formally know each
other but can make long descriptions about each others day-by-day habits.
This project was developed through the contact with dwellers from forty apartments, chosen by
chance, in narrow streets from Porto Alegre - Brazil. The idea was to contrast the views and the
point of views always visiting apartments on both sides. The dwellers testimonies were collected
in informal chats and complement the images, showing these unique relationships established
in the city.

The city changes, grows, transform itself. The landscape, ephemeral, dissolve itself into concrete.
We can no longer identify the geographic references that gave rise to its foundation. Which way
is the river? Where the sun rises? What distinguishes this city?
The series View of [...] is an ongoing work in progress, that has been carried out so far in
Florianpolis, Porto Alegre, Sao Paulo, Belem and Rio de Janeiro - Brazil, Buenos Aires - Argentina,
Dubai - UEA, New York - EUA, Paris - France and Shanghai - China. The proposal is photographing
the window view in different cities whenever the expectation of a great view is frustrated by big
concrete walls, making it unlikely to identify the place and so, making all those different cities
look like they were the same.

The city grows spontaneously. Disordered. Up and down, wherever there is space. Every style
is mixed together. There is no development plan for the cities in Brazil, so they become a huge
architectonic collage. It is after this perception of the city that this work was created. As a play,
collages are made from disconnected pieces of houses and buildings in order to create other
ones. These new buildings are strange but, even though, they seem very familiar, once it is like
that our perception works. The series consists of 19 collages.

Escala de Cor do Tempo | The Color Scale of Time
Inspired by the ink palettes to which we add a specific pigment to get from one tone to another,
in The Color Scale of Time we add hours, days, months. To carry out this project, 12 series were
made, one for each month of the year, each one having 12 photographs, and totalizing so 144
images. These photographs were taken between 6 am and 7 pm, every month, always at the
same window.
This project allows different assemblies because the months are treated as modules. Two artist
books have also been developed as a result of the project: The Color Scale of Time For Sunny
