JOINT JUDICIAL AFFIDAVIT

I, EDZEL G. MIGUEL, of legal age, Filipino citizen and a resident of Brgy. Medina,
Dingras, Ilocos Norte, after having been duly sworn to in accordance with law, do hereby
freely and voluntarily submit myself for an examination by LOVELY ABADILLA, a
lawyer and an associate attorney of BALINTONA BARENG & CORPUZ LAW OFFICES
with office address at 3rd Floor, N. Corpuz Bldg., Paco Roman St., Laoag City, and having
said these, I have answered all the questions propounded unto us with our full
understanding and awareness that we are under oath and that we may face criminal liability
for false testimony or perjury.

SWORN STATEMENT OF EDZEL G. MIGUEL TAKEN ON _________ IN THE

PRESENCE OF ATTY. LOVELY ABADILLA

The testimony of the witness shall be offered to prove the allegations in the complaint
and to identify certain documents relative to the same complaint.

Q1: Do you swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth in this statement that
you are about to make?

Q2: Please state your name and personal circumstances.

A2: I am Edzel and I personally know Marvin G. Miguel since he is my brother.

Q3: Do you remember where you were at around 11 oclock in the evening of
January 23, 2017?

A3: We just arrived at our house at Brgy. Medina, Dingras, Ilocos, Norte together
with my husband.

Q4: What did you notice, if theres any, when you just got inside the house?

A4: Marvin was there, maam, sleeping in the living room.

Q5: Did you notice anything different when you saw him, if there is any?

-Ada napansin mo nga sabsabali idi nakiam suna, nu ada man?

A6: Nothing, maam.

-Awan, mam.

Q7: What did you do next?

-Ana ti inubra yo nga simaruno?

A8: My husband and I proceeded to our bedroom and we went to sleep already,
maam.

Q9: How was your sleep?

-Kasano met turog yo?

A9: Few hours later, we were disturbed by certain noise coming from the outside.
We checked on it and we saw Edmond Miguel, Melanie Miguel and my
brother in law, Miguel in the living room.

Q10: What transpired next?

A10: There were some police officers who were dragging my brother out of the
ouse and they were forcing him to get inside their patrol car. I remembered my
husband asking them why they are arresting him but he got ignored.

Q11: Are there any other persons present while your brother was being placed inside
the car?

Q12: Did they leave immediately thereafter?

Q13: What happened next?

A13: We were worried about my brother so went to the police station few minutes
after they left.

Q14: Were you able to see him when you arrived at the police station?

A14: Yes, maam. I was shocked when I saw the condition of my brother.

Q15. Why were you shocked?

-Apay ka nakigtot?

A14: Because his face was badly swollen, maam. I did not remember any lump
nor blood on his face right before my brother and the police officers left our
premise, maam.

Q15: What did you do then?

A15: I asked him what happened and he told me that he was assaulted by SPO1
CARABALLA, PO2 MARK MIGUEL, SPO3 BELONG and some other police
officers who he does not know by name but he can readily identify when he
sees them again face to face.

Q15: So after your brother told you everything that had happened, what did
you do next?

A15; I took a photo of his face using my cellphone, which photo is attached in this
judicial affidavit as annexed A.
