The Greek World as chapter 2 is titled and its multitude of cultural practices, collectively

comprises mans first steps taken in the direction of what we now think of as the organized, civil,
pursuit of enlightenment. During the 4th and 5th centuries B.C.E., we see clearly that, in its
earliest stages, artistic expression becomes a means of man portraying his philosophy of life, on
the behalf of himself, his culture, and his surrounding community. Additionally, a sizable portion
of Ancient Greeces cultural significance came in the form of basic architectural styles, as man
was literally beginning to put a roof over his head. Thus, my Cultural Creation is my best
representation of both of those areas of such cultural significance. The columns represent
menhirs from the first chapter, as well as the evolved version of them: the famous Greek
columns. The symbols included on the columns are (1) the Greek letter Phi, which, among
many other things, represents The Golden Ratio, which is a complex mathematical algorithm
developed by the Greeks, (2) a symbol known as URBS, which contains the prefix urb-,
loosely translating to city (representative of the polis that dominated ancient Greek
geography), and, finally, a lightning bolt, which is representative of Greek mythology
particularly Zeus, who was/is king of all the Greek Gods and Goddesses. (Revisions only
occurred on my essay with this Cultural Creation because it was impossible to edit by nature of
being made with materials that were synchronistic with the time.)
