Manual of Mass Production Information

Network Device

Mirle Automation Corp.

2010.11.01

1
Introduction

With the rapid growth of the global network, the plant integrated information is also
raging like a storm. Given the injection molding machine manufacturers, often due to
lack of production information, resulting in ineffective use of production equipment,
factories cannot control the quality of outputs efficiently, and company managers
cannot immediately know the status of production. Therefore Mirle Auto Corp. has
developed WM-10/20/30, mass production information network device, which
assists the factory for mass production information collection and analysis. Its
advantages are listed as follows:

1. Integrating the Regional Information:

Immediately integrating the factory machines and recording the current status of
mass production information for further executives reference and use.

2. Connecting to the Internet:

With built-in Web Server, via any browser PC or handheld-wireless devices, the
managers can either monitor the factory production or process data analysis, to
maintain the maximum injection utilization rate and high production quality. Thus
our clients can not only obtain their most current inventory data, but also catch their
business opportunities.

3. Data Retention:
With built-in SQL database, our device can preserve SPC data for the Web searching,
which helps the managers or engineers to set up production modes.

4. Establishing the Exclusive Web System:

Based on our clients production process, their MIS personnel can create their own
factory website, so that their mass production system and their management
information system can be integrated with each other perfectly.

5. Remote Diagnosis:
Our clients maintenance personnel can remotely monitor and maintain their
injection molding machines to improve service efficiency and to save travel expenses.

To use WM-10/20/30 properly and safely, please read this manual comprehensively
before operating.

C. Network Connection Structure:

Figure D Network Connection Structure

1. The first network card (Ethernet 0): it should be connected to

the wanted injection machines through HUB;
2. The second network cardEthernet 1:
A. Local Area Network (LAN): the Web server is limited to the
internal use for employees, which is connected to the
computers in the same domain network via the internal HUB;
B. Global networks (WWW): the Web server is open for online
computers, which is required to apply for a fixed IP address
to telecommunications companies. The Web server is also
accessible via the external IP address created by clients
company network administrator.
C. Data transfer speed of the Web server depends on the second
network card (Ethernet 1) and client's network bandwidth,

5
which means the wider network bandwidth, the faster network
browsing speed

D. Steps of Network Device Setting:

1. Production network devices are always set by the second network card
(Ethernet 1) through the network connection, general wiring divided
into two kinds:
A. Computers and devices are not directly connected via HUB: use the
network cable jumper, while the jumper rules are 1-3, 2-6 swapping.

B. Computers and devices are connected via HUB: use the general no jumper
cable.

2. Wait about ten seconds after starting the connected production network
devices.
3. Install ServConf Tool on the PC and run ServConf.Exe
application. Right - click on the form "Search Device", which will
6
appear on Device List. The relevant information is shown as below Figure
G.

Figure G Device List

4. Double click Device List option, and the setting of the network
device will appear. The relevant information is listed as below Figure
H.

7
Figure H Setting of Device

Device ID: Set up a network device code for identification,

assuming multiple connected network devices in the same
domain;
LAN0: setting of the first network card (Ethernet 0);
LAN1setting of the second network card (Ethernet 1);
PORTSet up the open ports of the network devices. General
setting rules: LAN0->60000 and LAN1->80.
8
Server IP: Set up a network device card IP, which can be a
regional one or a fixed one.
Subnet mask: the subnet mask setting depends on the size of
the domain network. Generally small domain is set to
255.255.255.0.

Default gateway: Set 0 if do not use it. General rules

are: if server IP is 192.168.30.11, the default gateway IP
address is set to 192.168.30.254; if the server IP is
192.168.110.21, the default gateway IP address is set to
192.168.110.254.
Station list: Set up the station numbers and IP address, which
will be connected to first network card (Ethernet 0). Each
machine station number and IP should be unique and shall not
be repetitive. Setting rules are as follows:
IP address and Server IP must be in the same domain
network, and the basic format is a.b.c.x (1 x <254).
For example: Server IP is 192.168.28.100, if a = 192, b
= 168, c = 28, the condition for x is 1 ~ 99 or 101 ~ 253.
The connection machine station number and IP address
should be the same as the one set in the production
network device. The relevant information is shown as
Figure I.

5. Right-click on the form to "Update, and then setting of the network

devices is completed. The production network devices shall be rebooted
once the setting is accomplished.
6. Executive the browser application on the computer, and then input
Server IP of LAN1, as Figure J. For example, the input format is
http://210.202.18.171. Then the browser will display the Web page,
shown as Figure K.
