SUMARIO
Se presentan datos sobre la coleccin, crianza, mon- datoras del fido Rhopalosiphum maidis (Fitch.) Syrphus
taje y morfologa de dos Syrphidae frecuentes de maz: shorae se cita por primera vez para el Per y en la zona
Allograpta extica Wiedemann y Syrphus shorae Fluke, estudiada existe con menor frecuencia que Allograpta
colectadas en los alrededores de Lima. Ambas son pre- extica.
SUMMARY
The author presents data about the collection, rear, common in corn: Allograpta extica Wiedemann and Syr-
preparation and morphology of two species of Syrphidae phus shorae Fluke, collected in the surraoundings of Lima.
Both species are predators of the aphid Rhopalosiphum

Los adultos se m a t a r o n en c m a r a de c i a n u r o de
potasio e i n m e d i a t a m e n t e se p r o c e d i a m o n t a r l o s debida-
mente con alfileres entomolgicos.
A l g u n o s especmenes de adultos machos f u e r o n se-
parados p a r a p r e p a r a r l a g e n i t a l i a : S e separ e l a b d o m e n
y se coloc en un t u b o de p r u e b a pequeo con solucin
de K O H al 1 0 % , se calent a fuego lento hasta la de-
coloracin del abdomen. Se pas luego a un p e t r i con
f e n o l l q u i d o , d u r a n t e 1 0 m i n u t o s p a r a a c l a r a r l o ; luego
se deposit en u n a l m i n a excavada donde se p r o c e d i 'ig. 2 - A. extico Wied. (VISTA LATERAL)
